教学反思是一种有益的思维活动和再学习方式，每一位优秀教师的成长都离不开教学反思。
如果一个教师仅仅满足于获得经验而不对经验进行深入的思考，那么，即使是有“20年的教学经验，也许只是一年工作的20次重复；除非……善于从经验反思中吸取教益，否则就不可能有什么改进”。
他可能永远只能停留在一个新手型教师的水准上。
我国著名心理学家林崇德也提出“优秀教师=教学过程+反思”的成长模式。
叶澜教授说：一个教师写一辈子教案难以成为名师，但如果写三年反思则有可能成为名师。
教学反思可以激活教师的教学智慧，探索教材内容的崭新呈现方式，构建师生互动机制及学生学习新方式。
它是我们教师成长的“催化剂”，是教师发展的重要基础。
是否具有反思的意识和能力，是区别作为技术人员的经验型教师与作为研究人员的学者型教师的主要指标之一。
反思不仅是批判性的思考，而且是教师以自己的教学实践为思考对象，对自己在教学实践做出的行为以及所产生的结果进行审视和分析的过程。
教学有其延续性，教过了不是了结，不能边教边丢。
我们不妨回过头来看看整个教学过程，追问一下：“我的教学有效果吗
”“有没有比这更有效的教学
”正如有的教师所说，通过反思，在学生的“错误”中求发展，在教师的“失败”中寻发展，在教材的“局限”上寻发展。
反思是教师全面发展的过程，教师只有全面深入地反思自己的教学行为时，他才能从教学的各个环节中审视、修正原始经验，在强化、否定的思维加工中，经验得到了提炼与升华，从而转变为一种目标明确并有先进理念支撑的实践行为，让自己从一名“教书匠”转变为“科研型”教师，甚至“学者型教师”。
目前，我们所进行的教学反思贯穿于教学的全过程，分为课前反思、课中反思和课后反思三个阶段。
课前反思即是对课程标准及教材的解读和对教学设计的初步设想，因而它具有预期性，能让教学成为一种自觉的实践；课中反思即及时地在行动过程中反思，它具有调控性，有助于教师课堂控制和应变能力的提高；课后反思具有深刻性，让教学经验理性化，有利于教师总结和评价能力的提升。
通常这种反思我们可以通过评课，做教学案例、写教学手记等方式来进行。
说到反思，许多教师便认为是写写教学札记，实际上做教学案例、评课也是一种反思。
评课包括自评或他评，具体内容可以从教师的教和学生的学两个角度进行。
评课有益于教师悟出个中滋味，获益匪浅。
写教后札记更多是重在分析、总结，不仅要记录下成功与失败，而且还要写进自己的感悟，补充意见，使其成为今后教学的借鉴。
教学案例是课改中出现的新名词。
它的最大特点就是在实践中不断反思，通过一些具体的教学片段或剖析或对比，说明一些道理，让教师具体地领悟到怎样做，更能符合新理念。
这样，教学问题可以得到一定程度的解决，教师的教学水平可以得到一定程度的提高，教学理论也就会随之得到一定程度的丰富。
