也许就是因为这个原因,当这个德高望重的数学家在1865年写了一本荒诞的书,一本高踞于逻辑之上的书的时候,他没有署上自己的真名。

作为《爱丽丝梦游仙境》的作者,道奇森称自己为刘易斯•卡罗尔(Lewis Carroll)。

《爱丽丝梦游仙境》中的荒诞情节并不全是一派胡言。

我们觉得它不可思议,但它并不显得完全不合乎情理。

它是梦幻中的逻辑,而不是现实中的逻辑,可也是逻辑中的一种。

那也是成年有喜欢这本书的部分原因。

爱丽丝有时候也对这种逻辑迷惑不解。

好了,首先《爱丽丝梦游仙境》不是童话故事,更确切地说这本书是看似像童话故事的趣味逻辑小说,(当然这仅仅是我自己的看法,可能并不权威)你若有幸在童年时读到过这本书,你一定是被书中各种各样拟人化的动物所吸引,那么现在你要再次阅读感觉一定是不一样的,这就是这本书的一个神奇的地方,随着你的年龄变化,你对它会有绝然不同的理解,无论看多少遍,你都会有看不懂的地方,都不敢肯定自己是否真的理解了这本书。

那小小的一本“儿童文学”,为何拥会有如此之大的力量呢

这得从作者说起了,刘易斯•卡罗尔(Lewis Carroll)——这本书上的作者署名,事实上他的真名远远比这个笔名影响力大得多,他是牛津大学的一位著名的数学家和逻辑学家——查尔斯•勒特维奇 •道奇森。

人们都没有想到拥有这样一个严肃职业的卡罗尔会写出这样荒诞的一篇文章,其实这个故事开始也只是作者的口头创作。

140年前,年轻的卡罗尔和三个喜欢听故事的小姑娘,一起外出游玩,在行程中他给三姐妹讲了一个故事,每天编一段讲一段,旅行结束时,故事刚好讲完。

后来他就将这个口头创作写成了手稿,定名为《爱丽丝漫游仙境》。

在此之后,又创作了《爱丽丝镜中奇缘》,这两本书堪称是他的传世之作了,此外他还创作了至少三本富含数学概念与乐趣的‘科普’书,以及非常多各式各样关于逻辑,机率和英文的游戏。

比如,很多人大概都听过的一个益智问题:某人带着一匹狼,一头羊和一捆草要渡河,他一次只能带一样东西,因此当他在撑船过河的时候,必须有两样东西留在岸上。

但不能将狼和羊留下,因为狼会吃羊;也不能将羊和草留下,因为羊会吃草。

请问要如何渡河

这是他发明的问题之一。

其实,我想说的是,这位德高望重的数学家在1865年写下了这本荒诞的书,其中的荒诞情节并不是一派胡言,相反,这是一本高踞于逻辑之上的书。

作者是想用一种诙谐轻松的方式告诉大家,数学是数字的科学,是一个逻辑的世界。

说到这我突然想起来,我大学上表演课的交第一个作业,灵感就来自于这本书,老师布置的作业是《童年的梦》,我交的作业叫《童年的梦之我长大了》,大概内容是,一个小女孩玩着玩着睡着了,然后做了一个梦,梦见自已长大了并发生了很多奇怪搞笑的事情,(与书中的情节几乎一样)当时老师对我的作业评价很高,她甚至不敢相信,在此之前我一天都没有学过表演,并把这个作业当作范本,让班上的所有同学每人都演一遍。

可见这本故事看起来再也简单不过的书对我潜移默化的影响有多大吧

其实,并不是只有我对这本书情有独钟,我最喜欢的作家米兰。

昆德拉也是《爱丽丝梦游仙境》的疯狂粉丝之一,米兰。

昆德拉的作品我很多部都拜读过,在16岁的时候我就迷上了‘他’,至于他的和他的作品,我以后一定会详细介绍的,今天我想说的是,当我偶然发现米兰。

昆德拉的书有很多前言,居然摘自《爱丽丝梦游仙境》的句子时,我居然有种想哭的冲动,怪不得我爱看他的书,怪不得对他的文字产生共鸣,用卡罗尔的话就是所有巧合都存在必然的逻辑,爱丽丝就是我钟情于他的逻辑。

其实我的分析已经显得毫无逻辑了,就像书中主人公小爱丽丝一样,经常对自己的梦里的逻辑感到迷惑不解,但仔细想想它是梦幻中的逻辑,而不是现实中的逻辑,这也是逻辑中的一种。

我靠个人的直觉解析这件事,也是一种逻辑依据。

不好意思,说离题了,还是来爱丽丝故事里隐藏的故事吧

给大家一个提示,让大家懂得怎样读这个故事。

《爱丽丝梦游仙境》前六章基本还像是童话,自从第七章疯狂的午茶会开始,这本童话书就注定要成为经典了。

那是作者玩文字游戏的开端。

其中有一句是帽匠忽然问“乌鸦为什么长得像写字台

”我每次看都觉得奇怪,我很小的时候就相信这句话绝对不是作者随便说出的病句,书中并没有给出回答。

前两年我再次翻到这的时候,我突然觉得该看看这句话作者的原文是怎么说的,但我的英文也不好,我查到原文是 Why is a raven like a writing-desk?我还是看不出有什么问题,我还是不甘心(金牛座的,爱钻牛角尖),最后终于查到了专家的解释,并且知道了这个问题的最佳答案,是后来的读者创造出来:因为它们各有一个 B (Because there is a b in both)。

为何最佳

因为这是一个无聊而正确的肯定句,正好用来回覆那个无聊而正确的疑问句。

恰好 raven 和 writing-desk 两个字里面都没有 b,才使得后面那个肯定句变成绝妙的回答,否则这一问一答就有了‘意义’,一旦有意义就破坏了它原本的‘无聊’旨趣,就变得无趣了。

而后者之所以正确,是因为 both 里面的确有一个 b。

是不是这样

这整个文字游戏的意义就在于它没有意义。
