其实根据标准语法，只有介词和动词才能带有宾语。
所以，这样的从句只能定义为原因状语从句，用来解释前面形容词的原因。

Dreadful to me表 was系动词 the coming home主 in the raw twilight状语，修饰coming home.没有从句。
这是一个倒装句：正常语序（不倒装）：The coming home in the raw twilight was dreadful to me.在阴冷的暮色中回家对我来说是可怕的。
除了特定的几个形容词能加宾语从句以外。
