The storage systems are now delivering Gigabyte of storage as the standard capability. Over 80 million of PCs are being sold a year. And the server market, the higher performance machines that these PCs networked with, are the fastest growing part of this business. The performance of those servers is increasing not only because the individual processors are faster, but also because we are using multiple-processor machines, so called SMP designs and clustering nodes together.……Great chips, systems developers, partners who are sponsoring [3] this event, making this all possible. 名人故事演讲稿张海迪三分钟
1955年9月，张海迪出生在山东省文登县的一个知识分子家庭里，玲玲是她的小名。
5岁之前，张海迪有一个幸福的童年，快乐而活泼，成天蹦蹦跳跳跑来跑去。
可惜，蹦蹦跳跳的时光是那样短暂。
1960年一个明朗的早晨，玩具室里刚上完一节“课”，她和小同伴们嘻笑着朝门外跑去，忽然跌倒了。
从此，双腿丧失了知觉，张海迪也丧失了关于腿的记忆。
童年时许多生活场景，她都清晰记得，独独不知道腿是怎么活动的，人走路时的感觉是怎样的。
得了什么病，竟然这样可怕
张海迪当年不知道自己患的是脊髓血管瘤，病情反复发作，非常难治。
5年中，她做了3次大手术，脊椎板被摘去6块，最后高位截瘫。
这样，原来天真活泼的张海迪，只能整天卧在床上。
当年，医生们一致认为，像这种高位截瘫病人，一般很难活过27岁。
看着伙伴们高高兴兴地背着书包上学校，终于有一天张海迪按捺不住心中的渴望，对妈妈说：“妈妈，我要上学
”可是因为自己的生活不能自理，所有的学校都不接收。
病情是无情的，每当病痛折磨她时，坚强的张海迪没有流泪，疼得实在厉害时，为了分散注意力，她就猛揪自己的头发，打算用一种疼痛来代替另外一种疼痛。
渐渐地，她揪下来的头发，都能编成一条辫子了
对张海迪来说，家是一所特殊的学校。
在这个特殊的学校里，聪明、好学的张海迪学拼音，学查字典，学一个又一个生字。
她趴在床上，用胳膊支撑着身体，抄书。
没有人催问。
没有人检查督促。
没有考试和考试中的竞争，全靠着自己。
一本又一本小学课本学完了。
但是很难哪，得走不少弯路，多耗费很多时间。
一道算术题，她做12遍，得出的竟是12个答案
她本来就不喜欢算术，得啦，丢开不学算了
可是不行，硬着头皮也得学会它。
第13次终于算对了。
努力是加倍的，可是成功的喜悦也是加倍的呀。
于是，她的学习自觉性、学习乐趣与生活的意志，还有思维能力，便随着知识一起增长起来了。
1970年4月，张海迪跟着带领知识青年下乡的父亲张坦夫、母亲毕江娇，坐着一辆大卡车，来到莘县十八里铺尚楼村，开始了农村生活。
起初，张海迪感觉农村非常陌生，没有电灯和自来水，生活也十分艰苦。
但是，在那些淳朴的村民身上，张海迪很快感到了更真、更朴素的爱。
她发现小学校没有音乐教师，就主动到学校教唱歌。
课余还帮助学生组织自学小组，给学生理发、钉扣子、补衣服。
当看到当地群众缺医少药带来的痛苦，张海迪便萌生了学习医术解除群众病痛的念头。
她用自己的零用钱买来了医学书籍、体温表、听诊器、人体模型和药物，努力研读了《针灸学》、《人体解剖学》、《内科学》、《实用儿科学》等书。
为了认清内脏，她把小动物的心肺肝肾切开观察，为了熟悉针灸穴位，她在自己身上画上了红红蓝蓝的点儿，在自己的身上练针体会针感。
“书上写着怎么样进针，可以在白菜疙瘩上、在萝卜上。
在白菜疙瘩上进了几天以后，就在自己身上（进针），我觉得医生就是要这样，首先要自己感觉。
有人问我说，海迪是不是你的腿没有知觉，你的胸以下没有知觉，你在自己身上扎针不痛苦啊
我说恰恰相反，我最开始针灸的时候，是扎自己最疼的地方，比如向包括脸上的穴位，包括印堂穴，扎了以后是什么样的感觉，我要知道。
”功夫不负有心人，她终于掌握了一定的医术，能够治疗一些常见病和多发病，在十几年中，为群众治病达1万多人次。
“曾有医生嘱咐过我的父母，如果我要是得泌尿系感染、肺部感染，或者是褥疮，我会因为感染而死去。
我给别人当医生，我也给自己当医生。
15岁在农村的时候，我生了褥疮，晚上点着小油灯，对着镜子，我把自己身上溃烂的肉剪掉——所以，现在最怕听的就是剪刀的声音。
” 当年，张海迪作为一名待业青年，也曾有过自卑感。
“1年多的时间里，我四处报名，八方写信，常常在招工单位的门口一待就是半天。
我真想能为社会做点事，可就是没有一个单位要我。
在别人眼里，我是一个废人。
”于是，当年，张海迪想到过自杀。
1974年7月14日，张海迪趁父母出工，收拾好东西，写好遗书，说自己不愿做沸腾生活的旁观者，然后一次性吃了30片冬眠灵，又给自己打了6支冬眠灵。
在静静地躺在那儿等待离开这个世界的时候，张海迪忽然想到了尚楼村的乡亲们，真舍不得离开他们；又想到了保尔在海淀公园自杀的情景，他也绝望过，但最终还是战胜了懦弱和病残，成了生活的强者。
想到这些，张海迪挣扎着爬起来。
可药物起作用了，爬不起来了。
于是，她拼命地喊：“快来人啊，救救我，救活我吧
” 经过五六天的抢救，张海迪终于苏醒过来。
看到身边的亲人朋友、医生护士，她惭愧极了，对大家说：“我错了，从今以后我要勇敢地生活下去。
死，也要在大笑中死去。
” 日后，曾有记者问张海迪：如果你能拥有第二次生命作为一个健全的人，你最大的愿望是什么
张海迪说：“假如我能再有一次生命，我会实现我最想做的一件事，就是当一个医生，这也是我从小的一个梦想，我15岁时就自学医术给乡亲们治病，但没有机会真正穿上白大褂当一名白衣天使。
” 后来，她随父母迁到县城居住，一度没有安排工作。
她从保尔?柯察金和吴运铎的事迹中受到鼓舞，从高玉宝写书的经历中得到启示，决定走文学创作的路子，用自己的笔去塑造美好的形象，去启迪人们的心灵。
她读了许多中外名着，写日记、读小说、背诗歌、抄录华章警句，还在读书写作之余练素描、学写生、临摹名画、学会了识简谱和五线谱，并能用手风琴、琵琶、吉他等乐器弹奏歌曲。
认准了目标，不管面前横隔着多少艰难险阻，都要跨越过去，到达成功的彼岸，这便是张海迪的性格。
有一次，一位老同志拿来一瓶进口药，请她帮助翻译文字说明，看着这位同志失望地走了，张海迪便决心学习英语，掌握更多的知识。
从此，她的墙上、桌上、灯上、镜子上、乃至手上、胳膊上都写上了英语单词，还给自己规定每天晚上不记10个单词就不睡觉。
家里来了客人，只要会点英语的，都成了她的老师。
经过七八个年头的努力，她不仅能够阅读英文版的报刊和文学作品，还翻译了英国长篇小说《海边诊所》，当她把这部书的译稿交给某出版社的总编辑时，这位年过半百的老同志感动得流下了热泪，并热情地为该书写了序言——《路，在一个瘫痪姑娘的脚下延伸》。
当初，为了给张海迪治病，母亲变卖了手表、衣服等物品，还欠了一身的债，从无怨言，默默地尽着母亲的神圣义务。
尽管家里穷，但父母总是尽最大努力满足她的要求。
凡张海迪喜欢的书，不管花多少钱，跑多远的路，父母总要想方设法给她买到。
生日或节假日，书成了父母送给她的最佳礼物。
在残酷的命运挑战面前，张海迪没有沮丧和沉沦，她以顽强的毅力和恒心与疾病作斗争，经受了严峻的考验。

比如齐白石，他是个著名艺术家。
他除了精通诗、书、画外，也很喜欢篆刻。
据说，他为了练习篆刻，就曾挑了一担础石回家，刻了磨，磨了刻。
日复一日，年复一年，一担础石都被“化石为泥”了。
齐白石就是通过这种“化石为泥”的精神，最终成为了一代艺术大师。
还有，陈景润，是个大数学家。
小时候上学陈景润就很喜欢数学，一下课就在看数学书。
有一次中午，最后一节课下课了，同学们都回家去吃饭，就陈景润还边走边看数学书，最后连撞到树上了还不知道。
就这样，经过多年的艰苦学习，陈景润终于成为了我国著名的数学家。
