第三届“21世纪杯”全国中学生英语演讲比赛章程 为了进一步推动我国中学英语教学和素质教育的发展，中国日报社和《21世纪报》决定举办第三届“21世纪杯”全国中学生英语演讲比赛，本届比赛的地区预赛已分别于2004年7月和8月在大连和厦门举办，征文选拔赛将于10月至11月举办，决赛将于12月2日至6日在上海市华东师范大学举行。
大赛由中国日报社主办、英文《21世纪报》承办，并成立大赛组委会，组委会办公室设在中国日报社《21世纪报》。
为了保证赛事的顺利进行，特制订本章程，请各参赛单位遵照执行。
一、比赛宗旨 为了激发中学生学习英语的兴趣、提高英语的综合应用能力，给中学生提供一个锻炼自我、展示自我、捕捉机遇的舞台，中国日报社和《21世纪报》决定于2004年12月2日至6日在上海市华东师范大学举办第三届“21世纪杯”全国中学生英语演讲比赛决赛。
中国日报社《21世纪报》已经成功地举办了九届“21世纪杯”全国大学生英语演讲比赛，吸引了来自全国500多所高校师生的广泛参与，得到了国家教育部、中外英语教学权威机构和社会各界的广泛认可和支持，是目前国内规格、水平最高的英语演讲比赛，并成为每年5月在英国举行的国际英语演讲比赛的中国区选拔赛。
自2002年起，中国日报社《21世纪报》又在北京、苏州成功开办了两届“21世纪杯”全国中学生英语口语竞赛，参赛选手由全国各省市英语教育主管部门选拔推荐，代表了中国中学英语口语教学的水平，已被指定为英国国际英语演讲比赛的中国选拔赛，在全国广大中学生英语学习者中产生了广泛的影响。
中国日报社《21世纪报》希望在各级教委、教研部门和各地中学的支持和配合下，努力将大赛办成国内同类比赛中档次和水平最高的中学生英语口语竞赛活动，我们相信本届中学生英语演讲比赛必定在全国广大中学生中掀起一轮更加火热的英语学习浪潮。
二、主办单位 主办单位：中国日报社 承办单位：英文《21世纪报》 中国日报社华东办事处 协办单位：英国国际英语联合会（the English-Speaking Union, the United Kingdom）、澳大利亚墨尔本大学(University of Melbourne, Australia)、新加坡时信出版集团(Times Publishing Group, Singapore)、上海外语教育出版社、华东师范大学。
三、比赛形式 第三届“21世纪杯”全国中学生英语演讲比赛分为地区预赛、征文选拔赛和决赛三个阶段，具体比赛形式规定如下： （一） 地区预赛 1．比赛时间：2004年7月至8月《21世纪报》小记者夏令营期间。
2．比赛地点：全国设南北两个赛区，分别在大连理工大学和厦门大学与《21世纪报》小记者夏令营活动同时举办。
3．参赛对象：面向全国各地中学，包括《21世纪报》中学英语报刊阅读实验学校。
在国外生活学习过一年以上的中学生和参加过往届“21世纪杯”全国中学生英语口语竞赛的选手除外。
4．比赛内容和题目：预赛由两部分组成： （1）第一部分为已备演讲：写一篇500字左右的演讲稿，演讲题目和内容根据以下提示自行拟定，充分发挥，演讲时间为3分钟。
演讲内容提示：时光如电，岁月如歌。
人的一生中，总会经历那么一些人和事，让人印象深刻，难以忘怀。
一次美妙的旅行，一部经典的电影，一位博学的老师，一个真诚的朋友，都会留在我们心灵的深处，让人记忆犹新。
那么给你留下印象最深刻的人和事是什么呢
请谈谈你的亲身经历和感想。
（2）第二部分为现场问答：其中一个问题由中外专家组成的评委团现场针对已备演讲内容提问，另一个问题为常识性、时事性知识或观点，选手现场抽题，由主持人念题。
问答时间共为两分钟。
（二） 演讲征文选拔赛 1．比赛时间：2004年10月至11月 2．参赛对象：以各省市英语教研部门为单位，按地区分名额，统一组织各地学校报名参赛。
分设初中组和高中组。
在国外生活学习过一年以上的中学生和参加过往届“21世纪杯”全国中学生英语口语竞赛的选手除外。
3．比赛内容和题目：根据以下演讲题目，由各省市英语教研部门组织各地学校和选手参赛，统一送交选手演讲稿及演讲录音磁带或光盘（文稿作者与参赛选手录音必须一致，演讲录音约为4分钟，演讲征文选拔赛的题目与决赛演讲题目相同），由大赛组委会评选并组织电话口试后，最终将有50名选手通过演讲征文选拔赛入选决赛。
高中组演讲题目： Wonders of the New Technology: My Experience with Computers and the Internet (计算机与网络: 科技的魅力) 初中组演讲题目： Growing Up: How Do You Deal with the Teenage Problems? (面对成长中的困惑和烦恼) 4．奖项设置：本次演讲征文选拔赛设一、二、三等奖，所有参赛选手均将获得荣誉证书和图书奖品。
其中获得一等奖的50名选手将代表各省市参加2004年12月2日至6日在上海举行的决赛。
（三） 决赛 1．比赛时间：2004年12月2日至6日 2．比赛地点：上海市华东师范大学 3．参赛对象：演讲征文选拔赛评选出的优胜选手和地区预赛选拔的优胜选手共同参加决赛。
4．比赛内容：决赛由两部分组成，按初中组和高中组分别进行比赛。
决赛演讲题目与演讲征文选拔赛题目相同。
（1） 第一部分为已备演讲，即参赛选手按抽签顺序出场，根据演讲征文选拔赛的题目进行4分钟的已备演讲； （2） 第二部分为现场问答，其中一个问题由中外专家组成的评委团现场针对已备演讲提问题。
另一个问题为常识性、时事性知识或观点，选手现场抽题，由主持人念题。
问答时间共为2分钟。
5．奖项设置：高中组一等奖5名，初中组一等奖5名，其中高中组的第一名将代表中国参加明年5月在英国举办的国际英语演讲比赛，其余9名一等奖获得者将于明年暑期分别被选送到澳大利亚和新加坡进行短期修学访问；每组二等奖10名，获得奖金800元；每组三等奖20名，获得奖金600元。
此外，所有参加决赛的选手、指导教师和教研员均将获得荣誉证书和英文图书奖品。
6． 参赛费用：参赛选手、指导教师和教研员在上海期间的食宿费、市内交通费由中国日报社《21世纪报》承担，往返上海的差旅费自理。
四、评判标准 1．评委团：由8－12位中外知名英语教学专家、学者组成。
2．评分标准： （1）内容方面：主题鲜明，内容生动占20% 结构清晰，逻辑性强占10% 表达完整，具有创意占10% （2）语言方面：发音准确，语调标准占20% 用词恰当，表达流利占20% （3）表演方面：感情充沛，富有表现力占10% 着装整洁，仪表大方占10%五、其他事项 有关比赛和评审的解释权和仲裁权在大赛组委会。

初中生英语演讲稿
My Dream I dream of being a doctor. My mother is a doctor. She always has to work extra hours and comes home late and tired. She has to go to the hospital immediately any time she is needed, no matter how late it is at night. When I was very little and still in primary school, I once asked her why she chose such a boring and hard job. She answered with a smile, “Yes I am sometimes very tired but seeing my patients getting better and better makes me happy from the bottom of my heart.” As I grow up, I gradually come to understand her words and realize doctors are noble. I made up my mind to be a doctor when I was in junior school and this has never changed since then. I really hope to see a world where there is no cancer, no Aids, no fatal disease, no one suffering from illness. But this is only a fantasy. What about the reality? There are still many many people who are faced with disastrous disease and suffering from constant pain. There are still many many people living in miserable condition and live miserably. There are still many many people dying of cancer and leaving the beautiful world reluctantly. All those things make me feel sad because I think everyone has the right to live . I want to help the sick and reduce their pain as much as I can. I want to bring a healthy body to the patients and save their lives as many as I can. I want to see people cured ,living happily with their families and friends after my treatment. So I want to be a doctor ,an angel in white. When I become a doctor, I will cherish each life regardless of the races, sexes, ages, positions and occupations. I will do every bit to cure the incurable. I already have a dream in my heart,so I have to make every effort to realize it.As a high school student now,I will seize every chance to study hard,arm myself with knowledge, prepare myself for the future and strive for my dreams. I will be determined, face the reality bravely and not surrender to any problems I meet. Is’s like Gothe says,“The important thing in life is to have a great aim and be determined to attain it.”Being a doctor is my dream. I think it is simple but meanful 我的梦想 我梦想将来成为一个医生。
我的妈妈是一位白衣天使。
她经常早出晚归，只要医院有需要，她立刻赶去，无论有多晚。
在我小学的时候，我曾经问她，为什么要选择这样一个枯燥无味的工作。
她笑着说，的确有时我也感觉很累，但是看到我的病人慢慢病愈，我从心底高兴。
等到我长大一些，逐渐理解了她的话，也意识到医生有多么的光荣，我下定决心成为一名医生，从那以后，这成为了唯一的理想，至今未变。
我真心希望看到一个没有任何疾病的世界，但是这只是一个幻想。
真实是什么样子的呢
很多人承受着疾病的折磨，很多人生活在一个绝望的困景中，也有很多人被癌症夺走了生命失去了生活在美好世界的机会……这一切的一切让我觉得很伤心，每个生命都是鲜活的。
我想用自己的力量去帮助那些人，减轻他们的痛苦，同时也减轻了我的痛苦。
我想还给他们一个健康的身体，尽自己的努力去拯救更多的人，我更想看到在我的帮助后他们幸福、快乐地与家人生活在一起，所以我想成为一个医生， 一个白衣天使。
I当我成为一个医生，我会尽自己的最大能力去挽救生命，不论各族、性别、年龄、地位…… 我的内心中的梦想，促使我尽自己的努力去实现它。
现在我是一个中学生，我会好好学习，用知识武装自己，为我的未来和想想做准备。
既然下定决心做，我就会勇敢地面对所有遇到的困难，不畏艰险。

First, I’ll say something about World Expo History. As we know, the very first World Expo, the Great Exhibition of 1851, took place in the Crystal Palace in London. UK. Ever since then, the goals of World Expos have been both high-minded as well as commercial. Visitors are able to explore the world outside of their everyday experience—outside cultures, new scientific advancements, and new inventions. World Expos have excited and inspired more and more people in the world. On December3, 2002, the Bureau of International Expositions (or call it BIE) announced that Shanghai will host Expo2010. the BIE had received bids from five cities to host Expo2010. Among the 5 nice cities, the BIE chose Shanghai at last! It’s really an exciting news for not only Shanghainese, but also all of Chinese people. Here are some details about it. Look at this profile carefully. The title is “The 2010 World Exposition ,Shanghai, China ”. this is the logo. And the theme is “better city., better life”.OK, let’s guess who is the image representative? Yeah, you’re right, Yao Ming! Shanghai Expo is the first comprehensive World Expo held in a developing country. And it is also the first one that takes “the city” as its theme, hoping that it can push forward the city development and help bring about a better urban living environment, just like the theme: better city, better life. I think, as a student in Shanghai, we should learn to be a gentle person and keep good manners from now on. 1 Never Give Up“If I could reach higher, just for one moment to touch the sky…”---this is from my favorite song Reach.When we are appreciating the passionate melody of Gloria Estefan, we could hardly imagine that she could return to the stage after her paralysis. In the year 1990, this Cuban singer was knocked down in a traffic accident, and the doctor declared that she might never walk again. But Gloria did not give up and kept up constant exercising. Just one year after the disaster, she stood up again and presented this encouraging song at the Atlanta Olympics.Whenever I think of Gloria, I can’t help recalling my memory seven years ago, when I first entered university. Naturally shy, ordinary looking, average scores in study, just like an ugly duckling, I seemed to be the least outstanding one in my class. And the successive failures in the beginning led me into despair. “Am I destined to take the back seat to others?” Unwilling to submit to the fate, I paid more efforts on my study as well as many other activities, film dubbing, recital, drama… cause I just want to catch every little opportunity to prove myself. 当我们在欣赏葛罗莉亚·伊斯特芬那充满激情的旋律，我们很难想象她能从瘫痪中回到舞台。

可是葛罗莉亚并没有放弃希望，坚持做恢复训练。

2 My hobbyMy hobby is fishing. I am fond of going fishing, for it is both interesting and iastructive-It tempers my willpower. Last Sunday I went fishing with my friend, He Ping. We started at daybreak. After three hours' cycling, we arrived at the outskirts of Hefei and came to a stream. The water is clear and clean. One can see fish swimming. The meadow sprinkled with buttercups slopes to the stream. It is a good place for fishing.In a few minutes everything was ready. Putting the bait of earthworms on the hook, dropping the hue into the strum, we sat there fishing with rod in hand. An hour passed. I did not catch a single fish. I lifted the fishing rod time and again. Time and again I was disappointed. There was no fish on the hook. On the other side of the stream, He Ping had caught several fish, one of which was very big.How comes it that you catch fish casily while it is so difficult for me? I asked.it's easy. 那是个钓鱼的好地方。
几分钟后，一切准备就绪。
把钓饵鱼虫放在钩上，并将直线垂入溪中，手握钓竿等在那儿垂钓。
1小时过去了，我一条鱼也没钓着，不时地提起钓竿，一次又一次地失望，无鱼上钩。
而溪对面何平已钓了好几条鱼，其中还有1条是大鱼呢。
“怎么你钓鱼那么容易，而对我却那么难?”我问道。
“这并不难。
只是需要耐心。
”何平答道：“一定要等浮子全沉下后再举起钓竿，鱼就在钩上欢迎你了。
”过了一会儿，浮子在晃动。
我屏住气在等待，浮子又不动了。
“亲爱的鱼儿，快上钩。
”我自言自语。
一会儿，浮子又动了，接着突然下沉。
正在此时，我举起了钓芊。
我喜出望外地钓到了一条鱼，笑咪咪地把鱼取下了钩。
这件事给了我极大的启示：成功需要毅力。
过对缺乏毅力的年轻人更为重要。
3 A Young Idler,An Old BeggarAlmost everyone knows the famous Chinese saying：A young idler，an old beggar. Throughout history，we have seen many cases in which this saying has again and again proved to be true.It goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life，during which one's mental and physical states are at their peaks. It takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments. In addition，one is less likely to be under great pressure from career，family and health problems when young. Therefore，a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life.Of course，we all know：no pains，no gains. 全国中学生英语演讲比赛
首届厦门市中小学生英语演讲比赛5月8日举行厦门网 2010-04-23 17:10由清一色执牌外教担任评委的“首届‘天骄杯’厦门市中小学生英语演讲比赛”将于5月8日举行。
据了解，本次演讲大赛由厦门网、厦门日报《管理教育》专刊携手加拿大高贵林教育局、加拿大天骄国际教育集团厦门中心联合主办，届时来自本市各中小学的学生将围绕“我的梦想”和“我心中的厦门”这两个主题一决高低。

据主办方负责人介绍本次大赛旨在提高厦门市中小学生的英语口语水平，为他们提供一个展现自我、激励自我的舞台，同时也为一些英语爱好者提供了与外教及知名专家进行面对面交流的机会，帮助他们找到学习语言的灵感，为学习英语打下更好的基础。
本次比赛分为小学组和初中组，数十名优胜者及指导老师（家长）将获得总价值超过30多万元人民币的奖品和奖金奖励，一等奖获得者将有资格免费参加2010天骄英语夏令营、价值万元的纯外教课程培训，老师及家长还有丰厚的指导基金。
