得到金奖券的孩子可以带一名家长参观巧克力工厂，还有机会得到一辈子都吃不完的巧克力。
这一天，五个孩子和家长来到了巧克力工厂参观，他们在巧克力工厂老板威利·旺卡先生的带领下进入了巧克力生产车间———一个奇幻的糖果世界。
第一个胖男孩，因为贪吃，被吸入了塑料管，差点被做成夹心巧克力；第二个自以为是的金发女孩因为吃了没研制成功的口香糖，变成了一个大蓝梅，只好被送到榨汁车间去挤出多余的汤汁；第三个是娇生惯养的富家女孩，她因为过于任性，被松鼠当作坏果子投入垃圾道，差点被当作垃圾焚烧掉；第四个是一个迷恋电视的小男孩，他因为迫不及待地想体验电视传输，结果传输失败，把他变成了一个微型小人儿，虽然经过太妃糖车间的抻拉，也没有恢复原来的样子，只有懂事的查理走到最后，得到了惊喜大奖。

Be it the former or the latter, if one expects to be solely on the receiving end, then s\\\/he will be too optimistic about it: it is hoping against hope that it will last.
