二、青藏高原隆起是地域因素 除了全球气候的变化之外,青藏高原的隆起是地域性中最重要的原因。
在距今7到8万年前,青藏高原快速隆升。
这种隆起对中国西北部的气候具有决定性的作用。
由于罗布泊所处的地理位置位于东亚西北内陆,每年,太平洋和印度洋的暖湿气流几乎都很少到达这里。

楼兰古城正建立在当时水系发达的孔雀河下游三角洲,这里曾有长势繁茂的胡杨树供其取材建设。
当年楼兰人在罗布泊边筑造了10多万平方米的楼兰古城,他们砍伐掉许多树木和芦苇,这无疑会对环境产生负作用。
在这期间,人类活动的加剧以及水系的变化和战争的破坏,使原本脆弱的生态环境进一步恶化。
5号小河墓地上密植的“男根树桩”说明,楼兰人当时已感到部落生存危机,只好祈求生殖崇拜来保佑其子孙繁衍下去。
但他们大量砍伐本已稀少的树木,使当地已经恶化的环境雪上加霜。
罗布泊的最终干涸,则与我们解放后在塔里木河上游的过度开发有关。
当年我们在塔里木河上游大量引水后,致使塔里木河河水入不敷出,下游出现断流。
这一点从近年来的黄河断流就可以得到印证。
罗布泊也由于没有来水补给,便开始迅速萎缩,终至最后消亡。
