Goodmoring ladies and gentalmen, I am very gald to stand here to have my speech. Global Citizenship begins at home. Do you know what is the connotation of the Global Citizenship ? To be honest I don’t understand the exactly meaning of the sentence ,so only can I explain it simply .Global Citizenship ,in my opinion ,is not something in word only ,but a kind of responsibility and undertaking ,a way of behaving and thinking .So Global citizenship begins at home ,with a commitment to live responsibility ,to regard all human begins as fellow citizens ,and to be proactive in seeking the common good. The world develops quickly, but it wandered from the path it should be. Peace and development have become essential issues. Peace lays a foundation to development. But because of the development, social problems and environmental problems have become serious global problems. Over-population makes us ask for more resources from the limited ones. It causes natural resources fearfully scarce. If we keep on doing so, we will of course lose our reliable living space at last. Apart from the environment we had broke at home ,we Chinese also have no sense to protect it when traveling abroad. Therefore Chinese travelers’ behaviors in foreign countries have made the native intolerable .And the foreigners have the bad influence about our country. So I think the sentence of Global Citizenship begins at home means that everyone should be the global citizen ,should take the responsibility to protect our mother land .Global citizenship begins at home ,let we do it through the children and the parents ,through the school and the society, thou the government .There’s an old saying : Action speaks louder than words. “天助自助者”heaven helps the one who help himselfToday,I am going to put our focus on the statement Heaven helps the one who help himself. I don't know what you would think of this statement once you hear that.But just let me share with you my point of view.In my opinion,chances will only be given to those who treasure every opportunity around them.In order to help yourself,you have to treasure yourself,you have to have faith in yourself in the first place.You have to say I can do it to yourself.Once you believe that you can overcome the difficulties,you will get driven and easily realize the help or chances sent by God to you.Ultimately,you will get the job done and become successful.However,if you don't even help yourself,you have low self-esteem,you lack confidence,you lose faith of yourself,you don't believe that you could make it,for sure,God is not going to help you as you don't even treasure yourself.You don't even realize your own value.Even if there're chances,you will never know how to take it wisely.Maybe you would say,not everyone in the world know how to help oneself.But I don’t agree with this claim.It has nothing to do with your intelligence,it is simply a decision.If you decide to help yourself,you would.If you want to help yourself to increase your confidence,you could join the leadership training courses,you could try to find out your strengths and merits (I believe everyone have them) instead of merely sitting there and do nothing,meaning not helping yourself.Those who have self-confidence would probably get the job done more easily than those who lack it.This is God’s plan.Therefore,it is all about what attitude you have.When you don't help yourself,all the help given by God would just be wastage.Once you help yourself,God will do the rest for you.In a nutshell,those who help themselves will see the help from God,those who don’t,won’t see it.Thank you.

However, before transforming the dream into reality, the benefits and drawbacks of bidding for the Olympics should be weighed carefully. Hosting the Olympics surely would bring about much gain to a city. Boom of the local economy, more jobs, and the possibility of generating income all sound extremely attractive to the municipal government. At the same time, better infrastructure, cleaner environment, enjoying the spectacular game with hundreds of sports elites and entertainment stars, and the opportunity of contacting people from all over the world also seem exciting to the citizens. First of all, the environmental impacts, including the increasing exhaust fumes of cars, more pressure on water resources, huge amount of wasted leaflets and other materials used for public activities, are most probably neglected. In order to broaden the streets, some trees may have to be cut. Near the construction site, the tiny dust may linger in the air for a long time. Reduction of farmland may be caused by the need of setting up new sports centre or accommodation facilities. These environmental consequences can be especially serious in a resource-limited and densely-populated city in a third-world country. Besides, if talking about the economic benefit, it should not be forgotten that a quick boosting may lead to bubble growth, which may easily crash. If not well managed and organized, the big event may not be so profitable, and the new facilities may be forever empty after the games. Yes, there have been cases that host cities ended up with enormous debts. Finally, let’s think about the low-income groups in the city. What will they get from the Olympics bidding? More tax, more fees, more expensive property prices, and higher cost of living. These definitely are not good news for them. To bid or not to, this is a question. It is up to the choice of the municipal government, and the local public. After the decision, what they can do is to make the most of the benefit, and reduce the drawbacks to the least. 两篇应该够用了吧
