Today I am willing to talk something about what we should matter. As we all know, ready or not, some day it will all come to an end. There will be no more sunrises, no days, no hours or minutes, including what we have got. If so, what we should do before it comes? Just to matter. What we should matter? In my opinion, what we should matter is not what we learned, but what we taught. What we should matter is not what our success, but our significance. We should matter a lot. Of all, I believe that most important is what we should matter is not how many people we knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when we are gone. Here, I put an importance on friends. Bacon said that a man dies as often as he loses a friend. But we gain new life by contacting with new friends. As far as I am concerned, to be is to be in relations. So we should make more friends and matter the valuable friendship. Good friends are always there when we need them. They are dependable and responsible. They share our sorrows and happiness and not interested in what they can get from us. They influence our development, maturity and sense of responsibility. And also, they warn us when we are in danger of doing wrongly. It is nice to enjoy the warmth from good friends. So we should matter good friends. As a fresh student, I understand the importance of friends deeply. During my college time, I will study hard to ensure my scores and make good friends as many as possible as well. I am glad to be edified in good aspects to improve myself. And I also would spare no efforts to stand on them, and share happiness and sorrows with them. Because I believe no man can live like an island. We all need friends. At last, I want to say, We all need friends, Because of them, we laugh until we can not stop; Because of them, we believe there really is good in the world; Because of them, we are convinced there really is an unlocked door just waiting for us to open it. Friendship Ladies and Gentlemen: I am honored to be standing here to deliver a speech entitled “Friendship”. The hero’s mother in the movie Forrest Gump says, “Life is a box of chocolates”. I would say that life, with friendship, true friendship particularly, is sweet as honey. It is moonlight cast on the tranquility of a lake on a mid-fall night, enchanting to the soul. It is morning dew on rose petals, pleasant and pleasing to the sense of sight. It is cosy fire on a bitterly cold winter night, warming the heart. But as Helen Foster Snow remarks, “Friendship is no common weed that grows along the way. It’s highly cultivated and watered day by day.” Like an infant, it needs constant care; like a young tree, it can not be left to the tender mercies of severe weather. True friendship consists more in “a friend in need” to give to than “a friend in need” to take from. A true friend is a person who can be turned to, who is ready to lend a listening ear, who is willing to share feelings. Friendship should be mutual, otherwise it will be subject to withering like plant in drought. Like genuine love, true friendship has to be a two way experience. Be it the former or the latter, if one expects to be solely on the receiving end, then s\\\/he will be too optimistic about it: it is hoping against hope that it will last. Love or friendship of this kind is dangerous, as it is contaminated by the dark matter in human nature – selfishness. Not infrequently does friendship need to be cared and tended, fostered and nourished, so that it will “stand at every crossroad, so good and strong and true”. 不是原创 可以不friends plays an important part in our lives,and although we may take friendship for granted,we oftern do not clearly understand how we make friends . while we get on well with a number of people,we are usually friends with only a very few --- for example ,the aerage among students is about 6 per person.in all the cases of friendly relationship ,two people loke one another and enjoy being together ,but beyongd that ,the degree of intimacy between them and the reason for their shared interests vary enormously . as we get to know people we take into account things like age,race,ecnomic condition,social position,and intelligence . altough these factors are not of prime importance ,it is more difficult to get on woth people when there is a marked difference in age and background.some friendly relationships can be kept on argument and discussion,but it is uaual for close friends to have similar ideas and beliefs, to have attitude and interests in the common-- they often talk about being on the same wavelength .it is generally takes time to reach this point. and the more intimataly involved people become,the more they rely on one another. people want to do friends favors anf hate to break a promise .equally friends have to learn to put up with annoying habits and to tolerate differences of opinoin.in contrast with marriage,there are no relationships ceremonies to strengthen the association between two people .but the supporting and understanding of each other that results from shared expierences and emotions does seem to creat a powerful bond,which can ovecome differences in background and break dowm barriers of age class or raceHOPE IT WILL BE USEFUL TO YOU!
