世界大学生运动会是由国际大学生体育联合会举办的一项国际综合性体育赛事，每两年举办一次，其规模仅次于奥运会，素有“小奥运”之称，分为夏季运动会和冬季运动会 。
到目前为止，我国北京曾于2001年成功申请，并举办第21届夏季大学生运动会，哈尔滨也成功举行了2009年第24届冬季大学生运动会。

世界警察和消防运动会联合会是一个非营利组织，1985年由美国加州警察田径联合会为基础建立的。
世警会，是一项世界范围内的体育赛事，素有“警察消防员奥运会”之称，每两年举行一次。
目的是增强警察和消防队员的体质。
在职及退休的警察和消防队员都可以参赛，海关和安全警卫队等执法部门职员也可以参加。
