From this book, I knew it's very important for us to protect earth's resources. long long ago, most people did not worry about the earth environment, because the rivers, lakes and oceans were clean and the sky was very blue in that time. But today more and more people begin to worry about these things. The earth we live in is becoming more and more intolerable because of environmental destruction. People have changed the Earth by not taking care of its resources. We waste resources and we also pollute them. As we know,we can't drink the polluted water or wash with it. We can't farm land that has been polluted. We can't breathe air that has been polluted. Being aware of the danger of earth environment, people all over the world set The Earth Day in 1970. Since 1970, they have been celebrating Earth Day each year. The Earth Day means to protect the earth's ecological environment. Saving water The book says, not only lack of water in the future but also polluted water may result in several problems. In the world, at present it's not only hungry, but also thirsty for water. No one can live without water. Even worse, some of it has been polluted. We all have to learn how to stop wasting our precious water. One of the first steps we should take is to develop ways of reusing it. Saving fresh air No air means death. Although we can't see it, there is air round us. So air is everywhere and it gives life to every living thing. Without it we can't live. But now the weather is worse and worse. As you know, people felled such a lot of trees that the air is not clean and safe. And there are too many cars running in the streets in the city . The gas which the cars spread out is full poison. Every day we breathe bad air in and out. It's bad for our health. It makes people ill. We must have fresh air to keep us healthy. So we must do something to keep our air clean. For example, we walk and ride our bike instead of driving a car. We also try to do the best to plant more and more trees. Human being is not only face the problems of water pollution , air pollution and forest destruction but also the unpleasant weather and decreasing of planting land. planting trees Trees can stop the wind blowing the soil away. It will prevent the sand moving towards the rich famland in the south. Planting more trees is good for a lot of land. But more Great Green Walls are still needed, and not only in China. They must be built all over the world. In addition, planting trees helps improve and beautify the environment. Let's take action The old Chinese proverbs many hands make light work and many a little makes a mickle are perfectly right. Although I am a middle student, I can do something for the earth's ecological environment. I can do these things:1) Take shorter showers.2) Tell the other people not to smoke in the public place and not to drive every day. 3) Use old, torn clothes and towels to make rags.4) Sort aluminum cans, glass, and newspapers and sell them.5) Make posters to tell others what they can do for our earth.6) Write on both sides of my paper.7) Turn used paper into note pads.8) Make jewelry using aluminum cans.9) Use glass jars to store things in. If everyone can do for our earth, the earth will be beautiful and safe. Our natural resources will last longer if we learn to recycle them. If we educate people to think about the problems we shall have a better and cleaner planet in the future.In a word, there is a long way to go before we enjoy a clean and comfortable earth.
