She ends up staying at Lowood for eight years, first as a student and then as a teacher. Finally, Jane leaves Lowood and goes to Thornfield as a governess(家庭女教师) to teach Adele Varens. The master of Thornfield is Mr. Rochester. Mrs. Fairfax is the housekeeper of here and she is very kind. On the way to the post office, Jane meets Mr. Rochester. One day, Mr. Rochester's room is on fire, Jane throws basins of water onto the fire and flames are out at once. But after Jane thinks Mr. Rochester doesn't like her, she leaves Thornfield. Jane is increasing hungry, so she asks a lot of people for something to eat. Finally Mr. Rivers helps her and gives her a job. A few days later, Jane goes back to Thornfield, but the big house is ruined by a fire already. Fortunately Jane sees the house that Mr. Rochester is staying in that night.
