在参加红军的那段时间他十分辛苦，他穿着破烂的衣服，撒着又破又扎人的草鞋，每天都翻山越岭，有时候走的路多，他的脚都磨出了血泡。
他受了这么多的痛苦，他还说：“我是红军战士，受这点痛苦不算什么
”有一次在国内与敌人打仗时，不幸身负重伤，后来双目失明，全身瘫痪。
在深陷绝境的情况下，他并没有向命运低头，而是决定写小说，他拿起了和平的武器——笔。

我认为，不会的。
毕竟女性的独立是一个长期的过程，不是一蹴而就的。
它需要一种彻底的勇气，就像简爱当年毅然离开罗切斯特一样，需要“风潇潇兮易水寒，壮土一去兮不复返”的豪迈和胆量。
我想，这应该才是最关键的一步，也应该是走向独立的决定性的一步。

英国现实主义小说兴起于19世纪。
但在19世纪30、40年代英国现实主义发展迅速。
但是19世纪初英国社会中追名逐利、腐化堕落等丑恶行径习以为常的贯穿在人们生活中。
致使忿忿的作者们决心用笔来对英国社会的政治、道德、宗教和文化等方面进行批判，进行对这个社会的重新审视。
这些无非是想唤醒资本主义社会日益尖锐的的统治是否正确。
拯救处于水深火热之中的人类。
狄更斯的小说正是如此，他描写了英国资本主义的劳资矛盾，揭示了下层人民的悲惨命运和资产阶级的伪善。
具有强烈的批判性和揭露性，特别注重描绘社会的黑暗和丑恶现象，以及社会下层“小人物”的悲惨遭遇。

小人国的人为了把他这个庞然大物运到京城，动用了五百工匠，无数绳索，九百担起重机、搬运任务的“大汉”，一万五千匹“高大”御马等等。
在如此渺小的一个微缩国度里，所有的雄心和邀宠，政争和战事都不免显得“鸡毛蒜皮”。
党派之争以鞋底高低划分阵营，“高跟党”与“低跟党”你争我斗，势不两立；相邻的国家不但想战胜并奴役对方，还要争论吃鸡蛋应敲哪头之类鸡毛蒜皮的“原则”问题。
小说第二卷里更是指名道姓地批评了英国。
格列弗长篇大论地向大人国国君介绍英国的历史、制度和现状，以及种种为国家为自己“挣面子”的事。
不过，用大人国的眼光看，英国是利力浦特般的蕞尔小国，它的历史充斥着“贪婪、斗争、伪善、失信、残暴、愤怒、怨恨、嫉妒、阴险和野心”所产生的恶果。
这部小说不但抨击社会现状，还有意识地模仿了语言和文本。
格列弗在小人国抄录了一段官方文告，它赞颂国王是“举世拥戴”的“万王之王”，“脚踏实地，头顶太阳”，等等。
但是，无处不在的格列弗眼光，提醒着我们那位国君不过身高十几厘米。
“言”与“实”的差距使人捧腹不止。
在第四节里，简明的文风虽然依旧，但被描述的已是人兽颠倒的怪诞景象；马成了理性的载体，而人则化作下等动物。
他不断寻找着“逆境丛生”的感觉，这点就是他历尽艰险后重新踏上自己国土的主要原因。
为此他的经历更是让人们所惊叹，他所拥有的勇气让人们所折服。
格列佛游记》这本书每一章从中透露着不同的思想，令人深思，令人了解许多当时社会存在的问题。
同时他谴责了社会黑暗，流露出同情下层人民的苦难与不平等地位。
用一本书唤醒一个时代，用一个思想拯救着水深火热中的小人物。
