假期我读了《屋顶上的小孩》，这本书是美国作家奥黛莉。

书中讲的是两个女孩因为家中最小的妹妹突然死去后全家陷入了深深的悲痛之中，小妹也不再开口说话了，家中一片混乱。
她们的姨妈派蒂，为了心力交瘁的妹妹能得到安静的修养。
决定把两个女孩带到自己的家里去住一段时间。
可让派蒂姨妈万万没想到，这两个女孩与派蒂姨妈格格不入。
还好有宽厚温和的霍伯姨父巧妙的周旋在姨妈和两个女孩之间，才使得原以火药味十足的紧张气氛得以缓解，后来派蒂姨妈终于读懂了两个孩子的心，而这两个孩子也不再怨恨她们的姨妈了。
小妹又开口说话了。
两个女孩盼望着能早日回到妈妈的怀抱，而这一天已经到来。
这是一本既有趣，又伤感的书。
读书让我明白了，人在遭遇不幸和痛苦时，我们要“适时地学会坦然无惧地流泪”否则就“永远无法真正了解那些发自深处的祈祷和欢笑”无法坦城地表达自己的痛苦与爱。
故事中两个女孩开始不理解派蒂姨妈的用心良苦，是因为姨妈总是站在自己的立场上去看别人，但是后来她们坦诚的表达了自己的痛苦与爱，化解了对方心中的怨恨。
