《绿野仙踪》讲的是一个多罗茜的女孩和她的小狗托托遇到了龙卷风，龙卷风把她们吹到了一个叫芒奇金国的地方。
那里的女巫告诉多罗茜，要想回到她的家乡，必须去找奥芝。
多罗茜在寻找奥芝的路上又交到了几个朋友，它们是稻草人、铁皮人和狮子。
多罗茜和朋友们一起到了奥芝那里，帮助稻草人、铁皮人和狮子实现了它们的愿望，可是多罗茜回家的愿望没有实现，于是多罗茜她们继续寻找能帮助她回到家乡的人。
后来，她们来到了奎德林国，那里的女巫甘林达能够让多罗茜回到家乡。
甘林达说，多罗茜脚上的鞋子就能帮助她回到家乡。
最终，多罗茜回到了家乡。
