莫非定律是什么
定律 一、别试图教猪唱歌，这样不但不会有结果，还会惹猪不高兴! 二、别跟傻瓜吵架，不然旁人会搞不清楚，到底谁是傻瓜! 三、别太祟拜别人，因为他跟他老婆做爱的姿势跟一般人没两样! 四、不要以为自己很重要，因为没有你，太阳明天还是一样从东方升上来! 英美民间早有一种不成文的哲理，评论社会人生。
这些话语虽然 没有被人笔之成书，但口头的流传比学者的著作更为广泛而持久，那 就是所谓的莫非定律（Murphy's Law）。
到某些日常琐事，或者遭 受某种无所谓的挫折，人们会自我解嘲说：有什么办法
这是莫非定 律嘛
莫非先生，不知何许人也，看他的姓氏，想必祖籍爱尔兰。
爱 尔兰裔的美国人具有一些民族特征：，足智多谋，并且能言 善道，富有处世经验，懂得做人的道理。
难怪美语形容美好生活叫做 the life of Riley（赖理的生活）。
Riley和Murphy一样，是典型的 爱尔兰姓氏，仿佛英国人的Smith、Jones，中国人的张王李赵。
莫非定律虽然没有专书记载，但偶尔也会在小吃店、理发摊等 类场会见到非正式、也不一定正确的版本。
我就有这么一次，在一家 小本生意的印刷所里发现，在五光十色的印刷品样张里，有一张题为 《Murphy's Laws And Other Truths》（莫非定律及其他真理）。
现在把这几条定律逐一翻译出来，并加以诠释如下。
TO know yourself is the ultimate aggression（知道自己，是 好勇斗狠的最终方式。
）古人有训：知己知彼，百战不殆。
但战胜 别人容易，知道自己，认识自己，才是。
能够面对现实，敢于跟 自己过不去，就会克服自身的弱点。
Friends come and go,but enemies accumulate（朋友， 仇人则有增无减。
）交友不易，能够持久的朋友更为难得。
我个人的 经验是，跟美国人做朋友好合好散，有时今天亲如手足，明天可以对 面不相识。
至于仇人容易累积起来，也许莫非先生的话很对。
我自问 平生没有仇人，因此不敢赞一词。
If you're feeling good, don't worry, you'll soon get over it（如果你自己觉得很得意，别忙，你的感觉很快就会成为过去。
） 这句话不需要注释，大家肚里有数。
A short cut is the longest distance between two points（ 抄近路是两点之间最长的距离。
）这不是什么几何学原理。
在美国驾 车，从某处到某处，我习惯走大路、走熟路－一但不是老年人应该避 免的高速公路。
看人家喜欢抄近路、走小路，省不了多少时间，有时 在比较陌生的地方，反会迷路，绕来绕去走许多冤枉路。
Don't mess with Mrs Murphy（别跟莫非太太找麻烦!）在女权伸 张的时代，往往先生好说话，太太却不是好惹的。
不知道莫非的夫人 是否悍妇之流，还是小心为上，记取另一句莫非式的格言：Men and women are equal, but women are more equal（，但女人 更为平等。
） Never eat prunes when you are famished（肚饿的时候千万别 吃梅干。
）梅子（台湾叫黑枣梅）有通肠功用，但吃多了也容易肚泻， 挨饿时更不宜吃，这条定律可能是告诫人不要采取有害的方法救急， 而得到反效果。
此外，美俚Prune也含有贬义，例如骂人pruneface（ 梅干脸）；又如说You're full of prune juice（意谓你这人一肚子 的鬼、你简直胡说八道。
） When in doubt numble，when in trouble delegate（遇有疑难 的时候，说话可以含糊；遇有困难的时候，尽管授权别人。
）这是做 官的秘诀，中外一理，大可收入'他金森定律之内。
Never argue with artist（绝对别跟艺术家争论。
）我无缘跟齐 白石或讨论他们作品的得失，因此也无从探索这句话里的奥妙。
An ounce of image is worth a pound of performance（一盎司 的形象胜过一磅重的表现。
）所有参加过竞选的政客，都会相信这句 箴言。
Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong（凡是可能出错的 事，准会出错。
）这是莫非定律的典型，最常被人引用的一条。
It is morally wrong to allow suckers to keep their money （让那些冤大头守住他们的钱财，是不义的举动。
）从澳门到拉斯维 加斯，开赌场的无不以此为座右铭。
1920年，远在莫非定律'发明之 前，纽约夜总会一位老板娘有一句蜚声一时的口号：never give a sucker an even break（对付洋盘，晤啥客气。

）这句话的前半是英文里的老生常谈，早 年palm-olive soap（棕榄香皂）广告有句标语：a skin you love to touch 似乎暗示肌肤之亲，大可以用来抑制美只是肤浅之说。

）此语和上文说话含糊条似乎抵触，可见莫 非定律的运用要灵活，不可一概而论。

你挑了最短的一条，偏偏打头的那位慢 条斯理，折腾了半天，毫不动弹。
你看准隔壁那条动得爽快，于是一 个箭步。

想不到等你附上队尾，那一条又是寸步难移

）你买过贵重的东西吗--电 视机、电子计算机、汽车
分期付款，好不容易付清，机件忽然出了 毛病，偏偏正在这个时候各种保单的期限也过了，你只好另外出钱找 人修理。
You will always find something in the last place you lock （你丢了什么东西，到处找遍，总要找到最后一个地方才找得着。
） 上了年纪的人，动不动就丢东西--眼镜、帽子、雨伞等等。
东找西找， 无论什么地方都找不着，非等到最后意想不到的地方才找到。
究竟莫非先生是否是一个子虚乌有的角色，抑或具有其人。
多少 年来，我同一般人一样，只知有凡是可能出错。
…那句话，而不知 它的原著者及其出处。
直等到写这篇稿子，才想到请我的一位网友 代作一下电脑搜寻。
不大的工大，我的朋友发电子邮件回来，供给我下面的资料。
莫非确有其人，他的全名是Edward A.murphy，生于1917年，职 业航空工程师。
他在1949年参与一项计划，测验一 个人的身体对速度增加能有多大容限。
测验之一，是用一套16个加速 表装在被验者身体的各部分。
这些仪器有对与不对两种装法，果不其 然，负责装配的那位员工，把16件仪器统统都装错了。
于是爱德华· 莫非就悟到这个颠扑不破的真理：凡是可能出错的事，准会出错。
不出几个月，这句话传遍了航空工程学界，成为科技文化里的至 理名言，后来自然而然普及成美国人的日常话语。
1958年莫非定律 的条目，被收入。
另有一说，凡是可能出错……一语，有个更早的版本是这样说 的：If there are two or more ways to do something, and one of those ways can result in catastrophe, then someone will do it（如果有两种或两种以上不同的方法去做一件事，其中之一会导致 大祸的，管保有人会那样做。
） 科学定律往往有其推论，凡是可能出错的事，准会出错这条 定律，也有推论。
