至于歌德有没有说过这句话，我只能说，在歌德的秘书艾克曼（John Peter Eckermann）写的《与歌德的谈话》中找不到，这本书记录的是歌德生命中最后10年里与艾克曼的许多谈话。
歌德有没有在别处说过这话，就不好判断了。
但是，所有声称这句话为歌德名言的人都没有给出详细可查的出处，这就非常值得怀疑。
英文网站里也搜不到歌德与这句话的联系。
