再往里走，可以看见一幅幅木雕雕刻在横槛上，雕刻着人物、马匹，个个雕得栩栩如生，好像真的一样。

族长家里的木窗上，雕刻着许多倒挂着的蝙蝠，就是“福到”的意思，而每扇窗上雕着五只倒挂的蝙蝠就是“五福临门”的意思。
族长家旁边就是牛的“胃”----宏村中心的湖，族长是唯一能住在宏村中心的一户人家，说明族长在宏村的地位是十分高的。
宏村还有许多美丽的风景。

宏村位于黟县城西屯溪65公里，距黟县县城11公里。
该村始建于北宋，距今已近千年历史，原为汪姓聚地。
古宏村人独出机抒开仿生学之先河，规划并建造了堪称中华一绝的牛形村落和人工水系，统看全村，就象一只昂首奋蹄的大水牛，成为当今建筑史上一大奇观。
全村现保存完好的明清古民居有140余幢。
从村外自然环境到村内的水系、街道、建筑，甚至室内布置都完整地保存着古村落的原始状态，没有丝毫现代文明的迹象。
