篙:撑船的器具。

这两句大意是:治学就好像捧逆水而上的船,一篙紧接一篙,不可一刻放松。

此条以一个十分生动的比喻,表现治学过程的内在特征。

这种内在持征本来是比较空泛而抽象的,朱熹借用一个逆水行舟的例子,便把它生动、具体地昭示出来,使之具有直观性与语言的技巧性。

这句意思说:随那东南西北风猛刮,也吹不倒它。

这是一首寓意深刻的题画诗。

首二句说竹子扎根破岩中,基础牢固。

次二句说任凭各方来的风猛刮,竹石受到多大的磨折击打,它们仍然坚定强劲。

作者在赞美竹石的这种坚定顽强精神中,隐寓了自己风骨的强劲。

首句不是客观地记述青竹扎根于青山,而说它主观上牢牢地“咬定青山”,这就突出了竹子挺拨坚定、毫不动摇的品性。

三、四句侧重于借题发挥,既写竹,更喻人。

那“千磨万击”既指折磨竹子的自然界的风霜雨雪,也指人世间的种种磨难;而“东西南北风”也不仅是自然界的风云,更指变幻莫测的政治风云。
