它先是静静地趴在水中，只露出两只小耳朵和一小块灰褐色的脊背。远远望去，像是水中的沙滩，或是突起的小岛。接着，只听见“哗―”地一声，河马上岸了！好家伙，池中的水足足退了一尺多！再看它，浑身挂着水珠，披着一件又坚厚又粗糙的灰褐色 “外衣”，两只小小的耳朵和一双细细的眼睛与它那庞大的身躯形成了鲜明的对比。实在难以想像的是支撑它那庞然大物的脚―竟是四只又短又粗的蹄子！我们都在笑它，可它却毫不在乎，一面躇珊地往铁栏旁边走，一面晃动着两只小耳朵向游客致意，还不时地瞪着两眼睛莫名其妙地看着这，望着那，好像在说：“嗯？你们怎么老看着我？难道我长得不美吗？”瞧它那呆头呆脑的样子，既滑稽，又可笑，真是“不同凡响”。
只见小袋鼠紧紧地偎在妈妈的怀里，扒开“袋子”，把头伸进去，吃起奶来。小袋鼠吃奶的样子可真安稳，身子一动不动。只有头部在微微动着。过了一会儿，袋鼠妈妈好像累了，它把前爪放在小袋鼠身上趴了一会儿，然后又直起身子，七八分钟过去了，小袋鼠还没有吃完奶，袋鼠妈妈有些支持不住，就走开了。小袋鼠这回可着了急，赶紧跑过去，又用前爪使劲扒开妈妈的“袋子”，袋鼠妈妈只好又直起身子让小袋鼠吃奶。

大象除了身体大以外，最引人注目的是它们的大象牙和长鼻子。大象的鼻子起着“手”的作用，可以卷取食物，采摘果子，驱赶蚊蝇，甚至能拔起大树，大象还能用鼻子吸水洗澡。另外还可当武器，如有“敌人”敢来进攻，大象一下就能把它甩出老远。大象的牙又长又重，有2一3米长，25 -40公斤重，可当防御和攻击的'武器，也可雕成工艺品。大象是哺乳动物中的“老寿星”，可活100一200岁。
就在一百多步远的地方，一片树木乱摇乱晃，接着，棵树惚喳地倒下去，露出一头大象，扇着耳朵，卷起倒下那树的嫩叶，慢吞吞地咀嚼着。……大象吃得心满意足，打了个响鼻，慢吞吞地走进更深的森林里去。
一头大象用鼻子推着一辆宝宝车，大大方方走上场。车子里坐着一个布娃娃，那样子，真像妈妈推着她的小宝宝在逛公园呢！接下来，是踢足球。大象抬起脚，一连踢进了三个球，可是驯象师扔来第四、第五个球时，大象的脚动也不动。驯象师似乎想起了什么，拿起两个胡萝卜，塞到大象的嘴里，它才继续踢起来。噢，原来它在等着发“奖品”呢！
“快来看呀，大象！”大家一听到喊声，立刻赶去看。这是一头年轻而健壮的象，它有着墙壁似的躯干，柱子似的腿，蒲扇似的大耳朵，白玉似的大牙齿，大鼻子又粗又长，能伸，能卷，非常有趣。大象为我们表演了精彩的节目。看，它吹口琴了！它先用大鼻子把口琴卷住，通过鼻子的呼气，口琴就响了。啊！它吹的曲子还挺有节奏的呢！……接着，大象又表演了推车、摇铃、抬筐、抬桶、爬凳等节目。
大象跳舞终于开始了！也许是为自己助威，大象首先用鼻子卷起鼓锤，“扑通”、“扑通”擂了一通鼓。然后，又用鼻子卷起口琴，边吹边舞。在迪斯科舞曲的伴奏下，只见它摇头晃脑，甩鼻摆尾，丰腆的屁股左右扭动，四根柱子一样的腿则一前一后、一上一下地跳动。那招式，颇有迪斯科舞星的派头，真是有趣极了！
那狮子大得吓人，形状狰狞可怕。它原是躺在笼子里，这时转过身，伸出一只爪子，伸了一个徽腰；接着就张开嘴巴，从从容容打了一个哈欠，吐出长有两手掌左右大的舌头来舔眼圈上的尘土，洗了个脸，然后把脑袋伸出笼外，睁着一对火炭似的眼睛四面观看，那副神气，可以使大勇士也吓得筋酥骨软。
说时迟，那时快，只见西边岭上月光之下，窜上一个物件来到了岭上，又是呜的一声。只见把身子往下一纵，已经到了西涧边了，又是呜的一声。……那虎既到西涧，却立住了脚，眼睛映着月光，灼亮灼亮·…
“嗽！”一声震天动地的吼声之后，从山洞里昂首阔步走出来一只猛虎。它那灯笼般的大眼睛，贪婪地向四周张望。白嘴巴上还长着长须，威武雄壮，真不愧是百兽之王！这只庞大的老虎，足有三百斤重，而且头大面圆。色彩斑斓的额上有个鲜明的“王”字，全身都是褐黄与黑色相间的条纹，毛色美丽，闪闪发亮，唇、领、膀侧和四肢内侧都长着一片片白毛。它虎眼圆睁，一条很粗很长的大尾巴不停地挥动着，给人一种威武雄壮的感觉
老虎发出低沉而惊心的吼声，吓得弱小的动物软筋酥骨；老虎慢慢地，一副满不在乎的神态，嘴一开一合，步步进逼。毛茸茸褐黄色的花斑条纹，尾巴似竖着的一根大木棒从树边擦过，杆动枝摇，虎牙与须、眼与爪都充满了雄浑的力量。
在一个大铁笼里，一只像老虎似的金钱豹来回地走动着，它的眼睛闪着凶光，嘴巴上胡须抖一抖的，身上缀着线状的斑纹，黑里有白，黄中间灰。它瞪着灰色的眼睛望着观众，不时张开大嘴吼叫两声，好像就要出来吃人似的。
那种目光凶恶，口吻深裂，拖着一个扫帚似的尾巴，到处追逐食草动物的狠，是最贪婪凶残的，一群狼经过之处，任何它们可以吃得下的动物，它们都吃个精光。它们为了吞噬猎物，可以一直紧紧跟踪数百里。只要闻到一点血腥，前面有一点儿“肉食目标”, 狼可以成百上千只成群结队来追逐。
