相关背景基于美国政府于1948年立法通过的<信息及教育交流法案（smith-mundt>以及1961年修订的<教育文化相互交流法案
（Fulbright-Hayes Act）>，Work and Travel USA项目是旨在促进国际文化交流加强各国大学生交流的官方项目。并且，这也是一个由美国国务院监督管理并且已经在欧洲，韩国，日本，新加坡等全球数百个国家成熟开展40多年的文化交流项目，拥有一整套具体详尽的操作规范以确保学生参与者的安全和利益。

实践工作Work and Travel USA项目为参与学生提供遍布全美二十个州、城市和郊区的多元化的工作场所。这些工作都是充满乐趣并且简单易操作的入门级工作，目的是让参与学生在最短时间内就能上手实践。同时，此类工作的大多是暑假旅游季节性的工作，让学生有很多同游客和工作伙伴直面交流和接触的机会。
以往每年的工作场所例如有：纽约州六旗大逃亡游乐场；内华达州哈氏娱乐世界；加州Yosemite优胜美地国家公园，Oakland国际机场，洛杉矶国际机场HMSHost餐厅；密苏里州六旗圣路易斯乐园，Silver Dollar City乐园；犹他州Zion国
家公园；北达科塔州Theodore Roosevelt Medora公园；伊利诺州芝加哥O’Hare机场HMSHost餐厅；怀俄明州黄石国家公园；亚利桑纳州大峡谷国家公园；阿拉斯加州希尔顿Anchorage酒店等。
实习职位例如有：收银，售票员，机动游戏操作员，公园服务生，救生员，餐厅侍应和清洁，房间服务助理，酒店前台，厨房事务助理，食物供应，管家，销售助理等。分配职位时按学生的英文水平区分，并据实际工作表现可做调整。
实习学生享受的是同美国同事同工同酬的待遇，并享有其他福利（政府要求的基本医疗和意外保险等）按照联邦政府的最低工资规定：2009年7月24日之前，大约是每小时6.55美金，之后则提高至7.25美金。另外，对于接收小费类工作，每小时至少有2~3美金小费。学生每天的工作时间是7~8小时，每周工作5~6天，这样计算每周总计35~40小时，每周收入至少为250~300美金。住宿费用根据所处区域的不同大约20~100每周，饮食按个人的喜好，大约每周花费25～100美金。所以，按照过往其他国家参与学生的经验，每周至少有50美金的盈余可用于旅行等其它个人开支。
一般情况下，美国雇主每2周支付薪酬，学生收到第一份薪酬可能要在到达美国3~4周以后，取决于学生开始工作和获取Social Security Card(社会安全卡)的时间。所以，我们建议学生至少携带额外1000美金以支付一开始的住房等日常费用。实践时间根据中国高校的一般暑假时间，学生实习时间一般是10周，从6月中下旬开始至9月中旬。

资格要求
––年龄介于18至30周岁；

面试的目的在于评估您的英语水平，沟通能力、独立生活能力等，以确认学生的

什么是 Summer Work & Travel?
Summer Work & Travel USA基于美国政府于1948年通过的信息及教育交流法案（Smith-Mundt Act），该法案为交流访问项目建立了基本框架。 此法案于1961年被纳入并扩展为教育及文化平等交流法案（Fulbright-Hayes Act）。项目在已经在欧洲、美洲及亚洲其他国家和地区成功运作了30余年，每年约有十五万来自世界各国的学生利用他们的暑假，持J-1签证进入美国企业进行为期3—4个月的短期社会实践，并利用实践之余的时间，在美境内旅游或实地体验美国生活、了解美国风土人情。
项目的特点在于为全世界大学生提供了一个踏上美国国土、体验美国生活文化、提高英语能力、进入美国企业与美国同事以及与来自其他国家学生并肩工作的机会。项目全程接受美国政府监管，并享有医疗及意外保险。每个参加项目的学生以合法纳税人的身份在美国企业进行社会实践，与美国同事同工同酬。这给予学生全面提高综合能力的锻炼机会，同时也减轻赴美学生的经济负担。

许多家庭都有自己的独特的一面，我家也不例外。我家的家风是“节约风”。
我家最过日子了，奶奶说这叫节约，不是提倡光盘行动吗，在我家，只要有几道菜，几碗饭，就会有几个空盘子几个空碗。
记得有一年过年，大家都知道“正月初一不动刀”的风俗吧?奶奶每年过年都会多包些饺子，留着初一的时候吃，结果那一年奶奶竟然忘记了，所有的饺子都下锅了。结果为了节约，全家总动员，来了个除夕大光盘行动，所有的饺子一扫而光，我们也充得不行了。结果第二天，正月初一没饭吃了，幸亏去舅爷爷家去拜年，舅爷爷留我们全家吃饭，这才避免了“饥荒”。舅姥姥对我们家的节约风不时的“嘿嘿”的傻笑。
我们不光节约粮食，还节约用水呢!在我们家，厨房里，洗刷间里，盆盆罐罐到处是。洗菜的水冲厕，下雨的水浇花。常在河边走，哪有不湿鞋?有时候也会闹出笑话。有一次，奶奶找了一个矿泉水瓶子，装上了空调的水，准备给花儿洗澡，结果去找锥子给瓶盖扎眼的时候，我放学回家，看见桌子上有瓶水，不管三七二十一，拿起来咕咚咕咚喝下去小半瓶，咂咂嘴，咦，这味不大对头呀，怎么这个味?这时奶奶出现了，原来是接的空调水呀，我的奶奶呀，真节约呀！
爷爷奶奶常说，节约是中华民族的美德，也是我们家世世代代人应该继承的家风的美德。

家风也能够代表一个国家的风气，国家就是人民的家，这家风就更为重要了。它要靠人民地努力，遵纪守法，互帮互助，一个国家的繁荣昌盛，不仅仅仅是物资上的丰富。在我看来，更重要的是它的风气，一个国家、一个朝代的风气决定了它的衰与胜，只有社会风气好的国家，才能国富民强，才真正算得上是一个强国。
一天晚上，我去同学家玩，妈妈和我约定的时光是七点半回家，要尊重别人家的休息时光。我和同学玩电脑，心里也一向惦记着和妈妈的约定时光。还有五分钟到七点半了，我赶快和同学说再见，冲下楼回家了。妈妈一开门，就给我一个大大的拥抱，夸奖我守时。这一次，妈妈奖励了我下个周末一小时的玩电脑的时光。我开心极了！

家乡的门前有一条小溪。小溪跟人们十分友好，一年四季都唱着欢快的歌曲，它就像是大自然神奇的歌手。小溪的水真清啊！清得都能够看见自我那美丽的倒影；小溪的水真绿啊！绿得仿佛那是一块无瑕的翡翠；小溪的水真静啊！静得都看不出他在流动。这就是我的家乡！
到了夏天，调皮的小孩子们把鞋子脱掉，把肥嫩嫩的小脚丫放进冰冰的小溪里。就算夏天烈日炎炎，只要你弄一点水撒到脸上，那可比打空调还要凉快。这就是我的家乡！
