神秘博士每季对应的特别篇
John Hurt演的老头是第八代博士重生以后的下一代博士，可以说是“真正的第九代”。
他是在96电影版的8th之后，05电视剧第一季的9th之前。
但是因为当时正好在打Time War，八代博士在重生的时候选择重生成完全的“战士型”博士（10th在圣诞大战特辑里面重生时候和外星人单挑被砍掉一只手，然后重新长出一只“战士型”右手，才单挑赢的）。
这个“真正的9th”才参加了时间大战，最后毁灭了咖喱星。
因为他是战士型的，而且杀了很多人，和博士的本意相悖不能称为博士，他重生以后的新一代博士（就是第一季里那个短发）直接忽略了他成为第九代博士。
