1、 钱学森1949中国成立时，任加利福尼亚工学院超音速实主任和“古根罕喷气研究中心”负责人的钱学森深为祖国的新生而高兴。
他打算回国，用自己的专长为新中国服务。
但那时候在美国的中国科学家归国不易，而钱学森的专长又直接与国防有关，美国千方百计要将他留下不让他回国，他历尽艰辛才终于回到祖国怀抱。
2、吉鸿昌1931年9月21日，矢志抗日的吉鸿昌将军被蒋介石逼迫下野，到国外“考察实业”。
船到美国，吉鸿昌就接二连三地遭到意想不到的刺激，如那里的头等旅馆不接待中国人，却对日本人却奉若神明。
有一次，吉鸿昌要往国内邮寄衣物，邮局职员竟说世界上已经不存在中国了，吉鸿昌异常愤怒，刚要发作，陪同的使馆参赞劝道：“你为什么不说自己是日本人呢?只要说自己是日本人就可受到礼遇。

5、董存瑞1948年5月25日，我军攻打隆化城的战斗打响。
董存瑞所在连队担负攻击国民党守军防御重点隆化中学的任务。
他任爆破组组长，带领战友接连炸毁4座炮楼、5座碉堡，胜利完成了规定的任务。
连队随即发起冲锋，突然遭敌一隐蔽的桥型暗堡猛烈火力的封锁。
部队受阻于开阔地带，二班、四班接连两次对暗堡爆破均未成功。
董存瑞挺身而出，向连长请战：“我是共产党员，请准许我去!”毅然抱起炸药包，冲向暗堡，前进中左腿负伤，顽强坚持冲至桥下。
由于桥型暗堡距地面超过身高，两头桥台又无法放置炸药包。
危急关头，他毫不犹豫地用左手托起炸药包，右手拉燃导火索，高喊：“为了新中国，冲啊!”碉堡被炸毁，董存瑞以自己的生命为部队开辟了前进的道路，年仅19岁。

詹天佑尽管有才干，也只能当助手。
1905年，修建北京到张家口铁路的消息传开了。
英国和俄国都争着要修，因为他们知道这条铁路在中国的战略要地，掌握了它就能控制中国，双方争执不下，最后达成“协议”，说中国如果不让他们修，他们就什么也不提供。
他们以为中国人离开他们肯定修不成这条铁路。
清朝政府这才让詹天佑担任总工程师。
有人对他不放心，说他自不量力，说他胆大包天，劝他不要承担这项难度非常大的工程。
詹天佑说：“京张铁路如果失败，不但是我的不幸，也会给中国带来很大损失。
外国人说中国工程师不行，我则坚持由自己来办!”为了给中国人争口气，他把全部精力都投入进去，和工人们一起吃住在工地，细心勘探，大胆试验，经过4年艰苦的劳动，终于成功地修筑了京张铁路。
这是中国人自己设计施工的第一条铁路，极大地鼓舞了全国人民的志气。
詹天佑为祖国赢得了荣誉，原来那些瞧不起中国工程师的英国人也表示对他由衷敬佩。
9、朱自清朱自清是清华大学教授，著名的文学家。
抗日战争结束后，美国政府一方面支持蒋介石发动内战，一方面又利用签定条约的办法在中国获取了许多特权，还加紧武装战败国日本，对中国重新造成威胁。
当时社会上物价飞涨，物品奇缺，很多人在饥饿和死亡线上挣扎。
人民对美国和国民党政府十分不满，反抗的呼声越来越高。
美国为了支持蒋介石，就运来一些面粉，说要“救济”中国人，好让中国人“感谢”美国，不反对它。
朱自清看透了美国的用心，认为美国的救济是对中国人的侮辱。
他和一些学者一起，在一份宣言上庄重地签上了自己的名字。
那份宣言表示，坚决拒绝美国的“援助”，不领美国的面粉。
当时，朱自清正患严重的胃病，身体非常瘦弱，体重还不到40公斤，经常呕吐，甚至整夜不能入睡。
拒领救济粉意味着每月生活费要减少600万法币，生活更加困难。
可是为了维护中国的尊严，他坚决拒绝那些别有用心的“赏赐”。
他在日记中写道：“坚信我的签名之举是正确的。
因为反对美国武装日本的政策，要采取直接的行动，就不应逃避自己的责任。
”两个月后，朱自清因贫病交加，不幸去世。
他宁肯挨饿而死，也不肯领带侮辱性的“救济”，表现了一个中国人应有的尊严。
10、廉颇战国时期的赵国，有一位出名的武将叫廉颇。

可后来，赵王中了秦国的离间计，认为廉颇老了不中用了，改派青年将领赵括代替他。
赵括骄傲轻敌，使赵军打了大败仗，赵国也险些亡国。
赵王想重新起用老将廉颇，派出使者去看一看老将军身体怎么样，是否还愿意为国效力。
廉颇见到赵王的使者，高兴极了。
为了表示自己威风不减当年，还能上阵打仗，为国立功，他一顿饭就吃了一斗米、十斤肉。
吃完了，又披上铠甲，跃上战马，拉弓射箭，舞枪刺杀，果然身手不凡。
他对使者说：“你看我，虽然老了，可是能吃饭能打仗，只要大王肯用我，我万死不辞，马上回去领兵参战!”使者走了以后，廉颇日夜盼望赵王的调令，可一直没等到。
原来那个使者接受了一个叫郭开的坏人贿赂，故意在赵王面前说了瞎话，说廉颇饭量虽好，可一会儿工夫拉了三次屎。
赵王听了，认为廉颇真不中用了，就不再调用他。
