走了一会儿，小红帽看到路边有一片野花，开得又香又美。

好美的花儿，摘一些送给外婆，她一定会很高兴的。
」 小红帽蹲下来，快乐的摘花。
大野狼又躲在大树后面偷看，大野狼心想：「嘿嘿
好机会来了，趁她蹲著摘花，我正好扑上去抓住她。
」 大野狼冲了出来 …… 向小红帽冲过去，突然 …… 「哎唷 —— 」，原来它正巧踩到草丛里的捕兽夹，痛得它哇哇大叫。
小红帽采完花，继续往外婆家走，根本没听到大野狼的惨叫声。
大野狼拔不开捕兽夹，只好哭哭啼啼的拖著夹子，一拐一拐的回家去。
大野狼回到家以后，越想越不甘心。
他心想，非得吃掉那个白白嫩嫩的小红帽不可。
「有了，我有好方法了
」大野狼说：「我先到小红帽的外婆家，把她的外婆吃掉，再等小红帽上门。
」 大野狼决定了以后，马上先去小红帽的外婆家。
砰砰砰 …… 」大野狼敲敲外婆家的门，它装出小女孩的声音：「外婆，我是小红帽，我带东西来看您了
」 外婆听到小红帽来看她，高兴极了，可是她觉得声音怪怪的，因此问说：「小红帽，你的声音怎么怪怪的呢

」 外婆吓得浑身发抖，却没有地方可逃。
大野狼张牙舞爪的扑在她身上，「咕噜
」一声，把她整个吞到肚子里去了。
然后大野狼又穿上外婆的睡衣，爬到床上，装成外婆正在床上睡觉的样子。
不一会儿，它就听到小红帽一路唱著歌儿，向著外婆家走来。
大野狼听到歌声，赶紧把棉被拉高，尽量把头盖起来。
「砰砰砰 …… 」小红帽敲敲门。
等了一会，就自己推开门进来了。
小红帽说：「外婆，您好些没有
我带了很多好吃的东西来看您，快起来嘛
」 大野狼说：「噢，你来了，我的乖孙女儿，外婆正想著你呢

」小红帽说。
大野狼说：「我感冒了呀，声音才变了

回答说：「耳朵大，才听得清楚你说什么话呀 !! 」 「可是，您的眼睛也变得好大哦

」 大野狼突然从床上跳了起来，不但推倒了床边的桌子，也打翻了花瓶。

是不是被吃掉了
」她想喊救命，却叫不出声音来，想逃也跑不动，很快就被大野狼抓到了。
大野狼张开大嘴，「咕噜
」一声，连咬都没咬，就把小红帽吞到肚子里去了。
大野狼一下子吃得太饱，它抚摸一下撑胀的肚子，真开心，满意极了。
它自言自语的说：「一口气吃下两个人，肚子太饱太饱了。
我要睡个午觉。

「这支大野狼，实在太坏、太可恶了，我们来想个办法，好好处罚它
」 三个人商量好了，决定在剪开的野狼肚子里，装进一堆石头。
一颗、两颗、三颗 ……小红帽一边搬石头，一边数数儿，直到数到一百。
猎人说可以了，便请老婆婆用针线把它的肚皮缝起来。
猎人说：「我们先到外面躲起来，看大野狼醒过来会怎么样
」 等了好一会儿，才听到大野狼自言自语说：「啊，睡得好舒服哇

Meanwhile the wolf ran straight to the grandmother's house and knocked at the door. Who is there? Little red-cap, replied the wolf. She is bringing cake and wine. Open the door. Lift the latch, called out the grandmother, I am too weak, and cannot get up. The wolf lifted the latch, the door sprang open, and without saying a word he went straight to the grandmother's bed, and devoured her. Then he put on her clothes, dressed self in her cap, laid himself in bed and drew the curtains. Little red-cap, however, had been running about picking flowers, and when she had gathered so many that she could carry no more, she remembered her grandmother, and set out on the way to her. She was surprised to find the cottage-door standing open, and when she went into the room, she had such a strange feeling that she said to herself, oh dear, how uneasy I feel to-day, and at other times I like being with grandmother so much. She called out, good morning, but received no answer. So she went to the bed and drew back the curtains. There lay her grandmother with her cap pulled far over her face, and looking very strange. Oh, grandmother, she said, what big ears you have. The better to hear you with, my child, was the reply. But, grandmother, what big eyes you have, she said. The better to see you with, my dear. But, grandmother, what large hands you have. The better to you with. Oh, but, grandmother, what a terrible big mouth you have. The better to eat you with. And scarcely had the wolf said t, than with one bound he was out of bed and swallowed up red-cap. Then just as he was going to fire at him, it occurred to him that the wolf might have devoured the grandmother, and that she might still be saved, so he did not fire, but took a pair of scissors, and began to cut open the stomach of the sleeping wolf. When he had made two snips, he saw the little red-cap shining, and then he made two snips more, and the little girl sprang out, crying, ah, how frightened I have been. How dark it was inside the wolf. And after that the aged grandmother came out alive also, but scarcely able to breathe. Red-cap, however, quickly fetched great with which they filled the wolf's belly, and when he awoke, he wanted to run away, but the were so heavy that he collapsed at once, and fell dead. Then all three were delighted. The huntsman drew off the wolf's skin and went home with it. The grandmother ate the cake and drank the wine which red-cap had brought, and revived, but red-cap thought to herself, as long as I live, I will never by myself leave the path, to run into the wood, when my mother has forbidden me to do so. It is also related that once when red-cap was again taking cakes to the old grandmother, another wolf spoke to her, and tried to entice her from the path. Red-cap, however, was on her guard, and went straight forward on her way, and told her grandmother that she had the wolf, and that he had said good-morning to her, but with such a wicked look in eyes, that if they had not been on the public road she was certain he would have eaten her up. Well, said the grandmother, we will shut the door, that he may not come in. Soon afterwards the wolf knocked, and cried, open the door, grandmother, I am little red-cap, and am bringing you some cakes. But they did not speak, or open the door, so the grey-beard stole twice or round the house, and at last jumped on the roof, intending to wait until red-cap went home in the evening, and then to steal after her and devour her in the darkness. But the grandmother saw what was in his thoughts. In front of the house was a great stone trough, so she said to the child, take the pail, red-cap. I made some sausages yesterday, so carry the water in which I boiled them to the trough. Red-cap carried until the great trough was quite full. Then the smell of the sausages reached the wolf, and he sniffed and peeped down, and at last stretched out his neck so far that he could no longer keep his footing and began to slip, and slipped down from the roof straight into the great trough, and was drowned. But red-cap went joyously home, and no one ever did anything to harm her again.
