电影结尾他自愿替死去的哈维登特（双面人）背了杀几个人的黑锅，好让市民们相信双面人是好人，不丧失希望，因此大家都去追他。
（其实正因为他不杀罪犯警察才会和他合作，否则一定也会去抓他的）take it 就是他能忍受背这个黑锅。
joker从来就没有想过救赎什么的。
他已经疯了。
对他来讲一切都只是娱乐而已。
蝙蝠侠是个躲在暗处的英雄不敢面对世人。

具体原因是什么
2008年1月22日，被人发现死于纽约的公寓内，享年28岁。
同年2月，获得最佳男配角[6] ；2月6日，验尸官称演员死于意外服药过量，他服用了六种不同的止痛药和镇静药[7] 。
因为表演时入戏太深，导致每次演完一个角色都要很长时间才能恢复，在参演蝙蝠侠黑骑的时候，他为了揣摩小丑的心理而把自己一个人关在酒店房间中很久，重复联系舔嘴唇，捋头发，说话语气等等，最后才造就了一个的小丑
入戏太深曾自困一个月 可是由于太过深入角色，无法承受表演之后所带来的压力，最后抑郁服药意外而死。
应该不是自杀只是个意外，有点相似与吸毒。
