based on ... and by comparing ... 是两个并列的分词修饰，难点在于里面嵌套了分词attributed to，含有一个of结构，并且括号的解释让人费解。
实际上括号里的两个词是应该分开的，reference表示前面的oxide，hydrogenated是省略结构，省略了components，表示前面的hydroxide。
在翻译中我把意群之间用空格隔开了，有些地方用了意译，否则中文都不一定能读懂。
