《英国病人》主要情节和次要情节分析
豆瓣的一个影评作者想说的或者已经说了的东西很多，两个最大的词：爱情，战争。
男女主角之外，还有一对副男女主角，以及围绕着他们的好些人物。
这么多的信息颇能让观众迷糊。
（Audience are highly likely to get overwhelmed by so much information.）一部短短的电影能够把这个故事讲清楚已经不错了，如果还能让观众带着点什么感受离开影院，如同片尾的汉娜抱着的历史书微笑着离开修道院，能够获奖也在情理之中。
因为片子“散“，信息“多”，第一遍看完，在床上辗转反侧之际，想起这个那个，突然明白了。
今天再看一遍，我想就个人而言我明白了，虽然我很可能在扯淡，姑且闲扯一番。
片子的主线是艾马殊伯爵和. 克利普敦夫人的婚外之情。
艾马殊伯爵浪迹北非沙漠，进行历史学研究考察工作。
艾马殊最害怕拥有和被拥有（own and to be owned), 所以他与.克利普顿夫人初次云雨之后，他说“，请把我忘了。
”（when you leave, please forgive me.) 可是他们的爱情其实挣扎于ownership (所有权)和label(标签)之间。
克利普顿夫人罗敷有夫，跟随丈夫来沙漠考察 （丈夫jeffeory事实上是）。
她属于克利普顿先生，她属于那个婚姻，她的标签是“妻子”，“克利普敦夫人”。
不仅仅是人与人之间的拥有与被拥有（ownership), 每个人额头的标签，还有民族国家土地地球的拥有和被拥有（ownership),以及他们的标签。
艾马殊伯爵是匈牙利人。
为救在沙漠步行三天去最近的小镇借医生和汽车回山洞救人。
英军首先要弄明白的是艾马殊伯爵的国籍，也就是身份的归属问题；即使那边厢有个女人要死了。
因为艾马殊的奇怪的名字和他的近乎疯狂的态度，英军认定艾马殊是德国人，于是艾马殊被囚。
艾马殊逃出囚车之后，用自己绘制的北非地图与德军交换了一架飞机（德军缴获的英国飞机），飞回沙漠山洞，只是为了履行自己对凯瑟琳的诺言：我会回来，我永远也不离开你。
接着，艾马殊架着飞机，带着凯瑟琳的遗体离开沙漠，却因为机身的英国标签，遭德军机枪扫射。
飞机坠毁，艾马殊全身烧伤。
即便这样，在盟军医院，人们要弄清楚地还是这个面目全非，肺部只剩下一丁点儿，下半身瘫痪的废人的国籍问题。
而即使护士汉娜带着艾马殊留在废弃的修道院，仍会有人因回忆与仇恨找到艾马殊企图杀死他。
所以，片名叫““（english patient).即使是这么一个“病人”，也要弄明白他是英国人还是德国人。
艾马殊伯爵最憎恨“拥有与被拥有”，讨厌给形容词，给标签。
他说：东西就是东西，不论你在前面放什么形容词。

其中“大人物”指美国的一些政客，维多清楚的知道他们帮助自己是为了利用他获得政治利益，同时维多也利用他们为自己的“生意”做庇护。
显然维多是不会甘愿做木偶的，这也成了后来电影和《教父归来》一书的线索——迈克努力的让所有生意合法，却越陷越深。
