摇滚和乡村是由爵士发展出来的两个流派。
嘻哈、流行、拉丁是后来派生的。
现在的欧美流行音乐市场，R&B第一，pop和hip-pop并列。
至于摇滚、爵士、乡村、拉丁等音乐，他们的艺术价值不能与单纯的流行音乐比较，他们拥有自己的乐坛地位，是不能比较的。
