Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions - who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. 在欧美国家，做得比较好的是人的基本权利保障，比如选举、教育、卫生、言论等等，但是并不代表歧视就不存在了，即使在性别平等做的最好的北欧国家，性别歧视依然是存在的。
至于美国、南欧等就更加严重。
男女同工不同酬在欧美也是非常普遍的，例子可以举很多。
但是发展中国家因为经济、政治不发达等因素，在人民基本权益保障能力上比不过发达国家，比如教育卫生等等。
但是并不一定代表在这些国家对妇女的歧视就更加严重，男女平等和社会发达程度并不是一一对应的。
比如我们国家的男女同工同酬很早就有法律支持，而美国到现在都没有通过相关法案。
另一方面，消除性别歧视也是一个极其复杂的问题，不是三言两语就能说清的。
欧美的性别学者已经为此奋斗了100多年，至今也未能拿出完整有效的方案。
这是由性别歧视本身来源的复杂决定的。
现在关于性别差异、不平等的想当然的结论太多了。
