In this commonweal advertisement, a Chinese character “home” and a red Chinese character “water” syncretize with each other artfully with a white background. Its superficial meaning is: water is the blood of home, no home could without water. But it essentially appeals people to protect water resources, protect the environment.I fond of this advertisement for three reasons: First and foremost, this is an excellent ad with unique creativity. Vivid color contrast and two ordinary Chinese characters superposing delicately produce a strong visual impact. It communicates its idea accurately, and can successfully persuade people to have a consciousness on protect water resources. Besides, the advertisement presents its profound meaning not just from one point but extends to many. The advertisement leads us from one problem of water protection to the entire environment protection.Last but not least, the advertisement educates us concretely rather than abstractly with a strong practical significance. As we known, water plays an important role in our “home”. The word “Home” can be understand as the earth we live on, and as well as the real life home . Do you know what is the connotation of the Global Citizenship ? To be honest I don’t understand the exactly meaning of the sentence ,so only can I explain it simply .Global Citizenship ,in my opinion ,is not something in word only ,but a kind of responsibility and undertaking ,a way of behaving and thinking .So Global citizenship begins at home ,with a commitment to live responsibility ,to regard all human begins as fellow citizens ,and to be proactive in seeking the common good. For us university students ,usually we are busy with exams or focusing on the incidents in daily life .We hardly pay attention to the global issues. However , as university students ,we should take the responsibility to think about them ,think about the life around us. The world develops quickly, but it wandered from the path it should be. Peace and development have become essential issues. Peace lays a foundation to development. But because of the development, social problems and environmental problems have become serious global problems. Over-population makes us ask for more resources from the limited ones. It causes natural resources fearfully scarce. If we keep on doing so, we will of course lose our reliable living space at last. Apart from the environment we had broke at home ,we Chinese also have no sense to protect it when traveling abroad. Therefore Chinese travelers’ behaviors in foreign countries have made the native intolerable .And the foreigners have the bad influence about our country. So I think the sentence of Global Citizenship begins at home means that everyone should be the global citizen ,should take the responsibility to protect our mother land .Global citizenship begins at home ,let we do it through the children and the parents ,through the school and the society, thou the government .There’s an old saying : Action speaks louder than words.
