众所周知，中国的动漫产业发展的并不理想，蓝猫一类的劣质动画充斥着大陆的动漫市场，所以我们无奈的转向了日本的动漫。
事实上，中国大陆是很有动漫发展潜力的，我们有无数的动漫爱好者，有大量的动漫学校，培养了大批的动画人才，而且无论是在技术上还是在创意上，大陆都绝对不输给日本，这么好的条件为什么中国动漫就是不好看呢
首先是资金问题，俗话说：巧妇难为无米之炊，没有钱什么也干不成。
中国动漫就是个血淋林的例子。
在日本，一部动画制作一集ova的资金最高能达到几百万日元，合成人民币大概也有几十万，几十万阿!在大陆能伸到几十万的估计得要50集左右的动画，而且是很少的，经常中国制作一部动画的经费还不到日本制作一集ova的零头。
做不出高质量的东西就可以理解了。
第二就是人才的流失，还是那句话，巧妇难为无米之炊，没有人也什么都干不了，中国那么多的动画学校培养出那么多动画人才都去哪里了
很简单，都去日本这类动漫大国了。
看看日本动画的资源配置就明白，那些工作组里干活的几乎全是中国人。
那里有优厚的待遇，宽松的条件，而且有很多风格的片子供你选择，不去那里才怪呢。
当然，有人说我们没有钱一样能做出优秀的动画，的确，当年的大闹天宫，哪吒闹海都是在极其艰苦的条件下制作出来的经典。
但是那是特殊时期的特殊产物
按照现在的条件，完全可以花很少的钱，作出一部能和《全金属狂潮》嫔美的动画，甚至说这根本不是什么难事，但是为什么没有做呢
原因就出在最后的审核机构-----广电总局身上，广电总局掌管中国大陆所有广播电视和音像制品的生杀大权，像全金属那样的片子，24分钟基本能删到17分钟，也就是说把所有的有关暴力血腥（甚至只是轻微暗示）的内容统统删掉，再把剧本改得一塌糊涂，这样一来，一部完整的动画就被肢解了，原来的精髓全部流失，这样的动画谁会觉得好看
EVA引进中国后，本来的26话被改成了13话，几乎是一话打一个使徒，然后就完了。
大家都知道，EVA最大的精华就在于那些长达几分钟的定格场面和大量的人物独白，而广电总局恰恰删掉了这些东西，最残忍的悲剧就是把美好的东西撕裂，EVA就是这样。
另外不得不提的是，动画真正赚钱的并不是动画本身，而是其相关的周边产品，日本的BANDAI公司就是很好的榜样，一部好的动画，即使是十几年前的冷饭也能找到新的商机。
中国商人却很少看到这一点，为什么像蓝猫这种劣质的动画能在中国播了将近10年而继续在做，就是因为他转到了钱，而且适合给5岁左右的小孩子看，真正的关键是他迎合了广电总局的口味，所以广电总局就大力支持并推行，导致出现了大量类似的劣质动画。
综上所述，如果没有开放的观念，真正意识到动漫商业价值的商人，开放的政策，中国动漫产业几乎不可能发展起来。

日本动漫分类颇多，有推理；动作；战争；后宫；宠物；历史；搞笑；机战；少年；冒险；治愈；童话；格斗；少女；悬疑；科幻；竞技；社会；神魔；热血；校园；耽美；原创；魔法；教育；恐怖；惊悚；政治；哲理；经典；励志；伦理；恶搞；血腥；言情等分类，所以无论是哪一年龄层次的人，都能从日本动漫中找到自己感兴趣的内容。

日本动漫的发达程度大家有目共睹，留下很多经典动漫，而中国的经典动漫却寥寥无几，这也时刻提醒我们，枯竭的想象力在动漫产业中根本无法立足，要想创造出震撼人心的动漫，必须拥有丰富的想象力。

《百变小樱》在儿童动画方面取得很大的成果，在日本本地，女主角小樱成为女学童喜欢的人物，而在中国大陆、台湾、香港、韩国、东亚，以至欧洲、澳洲，最主要的观众层仍是中小学或年纪更小的学童。
其动画与漫画掀起的热潮，均相当成功。
另一方面，由于其中可爱低龄的女主角设计，在日本，因为御宅族文化的影响，后来也吸引了不少不同年龄层的读者，包括青年甚至中年的。
百变小樱在网络上有大量影迷，当中亦包括百合和萝莉迷。
因此在御宅文化所占势力较大的动漫评论中，小樱也被评为日本最赚钱的小学生。
但亦有文化研究者，指出过去御宅界的评论过份片面强调这方面的影响，窒碍了其他角度的解读，及这些其他角度带来的文化发展。
