1 Never Give Up“If I could reach higher, just for one moment to touch the sky…”---this is from my favorite song Reach.When we are appreciating the passionate melody of Gloria Estefan, we could hardly imagine that she could return to the stage after her paralysis. In the year 1990, this Cuban singer was knocked down in a traffic accident, and the doctor declared that she might never walk again. But Gloria did not give up and kept up constant exercising. Just one year after the disaster, she stood up again and presented this encouraging song at the Atlanta Olympics.Whenever I think of Gloria, I can’t help recalling my memory seven years ago, when I first entered university. Naturally shy, ordinary looking, average scores in study, just like an ugly duckling, I seemed to be the least outstanding one in my class. And the successive failures in the beginning led me into despair. “Am I destined to take the back seat to others?” Unwilling to submit to the fate, I paid more efforts on my study as well as many other activities, film dubbing, recital, drama… cause I just want to catch every little opportunity to prove myself. Constant effort yields sure success. Thanks to the competition, I received some awards and most of all, I gained the courage and confidence to face any difficulties in my life journey.Life is just like farming, and what you can reap depends a lot on your sowing and dedication. 2 My hobbyMy hobby is fishing. I am fond of going fishing, for it is both interesting and iastructive-It tempers my willpower. Last Sunday I went fishing with my friend, He Ping. We started at daybreak. After three hours' cycling, we arrived at the outskirts of Hefei and came to a stream. The water is clear and clean. One can see fish swimming. The meadow sprinkled with buttercups slopes to the stream. It is a good place for fishing.In a few minutes everything was ready. Putting the bait of earthworms on the hook, dropping the hue into the strum, we sat there fishing with rod in hand. An hour passed. I did not catch a single fish. I lifted the fishing rod time and again. Time and again I was disappointed. There was no fish on the hook. “怎么你钓鱼那么容易，而对我却那么难?”我问道。
“这并不难。
只是需要耐心。
”何平答道：“一定要等浮子全沉下后再举起钓竿，鱼就在钩上欢迎你了。
”过了一会儿，浮子在晃动。
我屏住气在等待，浮子又不动了。
“亲爱的鱼儿，快上钩。
”我自言自语。
一会儿，浮子又动了，接着突然下沉。
正在此时，我举起了钓芊。
我喜出望外地钓到了一条鱼，笑咪咪地把鱼取下了钩。
这件事给了我极大的启示：成功需要毅力。
过对缺乏毅力的年轻人更为重要。

3在人的一生中，经历最多的就是失败了，虽然失败会使人感到挫折，但有时挫折可以激励人们进步，可以激发…… 在我三年级的第一次英语考试中，由于没有考试经验，不知道如何复习，再加上学得不扎实，使我在这次考试中有好多的单词、句子没拼写出来，卷子上根本没写多少字。

” 第二天，考试的成绩出来了，我的英语只考了43分，是全班倒数第一，回家后给老爸“热情款待”了一番。

自从报名学习剑桥英语几年来，她每天坚持学习在二小时以上，经过几年来年的勤学苦练，英语水平取得了长足的进步。
为参加迎国庆演讲比赛，她足不出户，起早贪黑熟背演讲稿、构思动作。
她所演讲的《祖国啊，我亲爱的祖国》感情真挚，自然流畅，从而获得演讲比赛的一等奖。
近来，镇里举行全民运动大会，学校组织了大型团体操表演，为了排练出高质量的团体操，学校每天下午都进行训练。
