一九四0年十二月十八日，他出生在湖南省望城县的一个贫苦农民家庭里。
他的一家被万恶的旧社会弄得家破人亡，在短短的四年多的时间里，他的爷爷、爸爸、妈妈、哥哥、弟弟五位亲人被逼迫相继死去，小雷锋不满七岁就成了孤儿。

在参加根治沩水河的工程中，被评为工地模范。
一九五八年，他来到鞍钢参加工业建设，当一名推土机手，又多次被评为先进生产者、红旗手和标兵。
一九六零年，雷锋参加解放军。
参军后荣立二等功一次，三等功两次，团营嘉奖多次，被评为节约标兵，沈阳部队工程兵领导机关授予他模范共青团员称号。
一九六零年十一月，雷锋光荣地加入了中国共产党。
一九六一年六月，当选为抚顺市人民代表。
一九六二年八月十五日，雷锋同志在辽宁省抚顺市不幸因公殉职，年仅二十二岁。
1963年1月7日国防部命名他生前所在的班为“雷锋班”。
同年3月5日亲笔题词“向雷锋同志学习”。
周恩来题词“向雷锋同志学习：憎爱分明的阶级立场，言行一致的革命精神，公而忘私的共产主义风格，奋不顾身的无产阶级斗志”。
朱德题词“学习雷锋，做毛主席的好战士”。
雷锋的一生，是把有限的生命投入到无限的为人民服务之中的一生。
他以钉子精神，刻苦学习马列主义、思想，坚持理论联系实际，努力实践，因而具备了全心全意为人民服务的无私忘我的奉献精神。

自1959年发现以来，大庆油田共发现油田25个、气田10个，累计生产原油17亿多吨。

一位老大庆人说，读懂大庆的历史不容易，因为它深邃、丰厚、博大。
只有站在历史的高度、政治的高度、全局的高度，才能诠释它。
大庆的历史是一部物质文明的历史，也是一部精神文明的历史。

党的十一届三中全会以后，经济建设步入正轨，国家对能源的需求越来越迫切。
从20世纪90年代开始，国民经济迅速发展，石油工业的地位愈显重要。
在这样的情况下，以大庆为代表的中国石油工业，被历史推到了前台。
1993年，中国成为石油净进口国。
在随后的5年间，国际石油政治风云突变，时时刻刻考验着中国石油。
党中央适时提出，以资本为纽带，通过市场形成具有较强竞争力的跨地区、跨行业、跨所有制和跨国经营的大企业集团。
中石油、中石化、中海油以独立法人的身份出现在世界石油大家庭。
在这个脱胎换骨的重组改制大潮中，生存在松辽盆地的“一奶同胞”分开分立，大庆石油管理局、大庆油田公司分开运行。
大庆油田面临新的考验，迎来新的发展机遇。
新的机遇也是新的挑战。
面对前所未有的困难，大庆局、大庆油田公司与时俱进，探索持续有效发展之路，谋求建设“百年油田”之道。
重组改制至今，大庆局实行“三改一调整”，拓展外部市场。
