At the Olympic Winter Games, curling consists of two events: a women’s tournament and a men’s tournament. Each tournament starts with 10 curling teams. Two teams play against each other at a time. The game is played on ice, and the two teams take turns pushing 19.1-kilogram stones towards a series of concentric rings or circles. The object is to get the stones as close to the centre of the rings as possible.One game consists of 10 “ends” (similar to innings in baseball). Team members sweep the ice clean in front of each stone to control the stone’s direction, known as its “curl,” and the stone’s speed. 不久前，曾看到这样一则报道，说的是新加坡，新加坡是一个通用英语的国家，这个国家的公共场所的各种标语大多是用英语书写。

为什么呢

反之，徒有幽雅的环境，良好的设施，国人却有着以上不尽人意的表现，那无疑会留给世人一个“金玉其外，败絮其中”的印象。
鲁迅先生说：“中国欲存争于天下，其首在立人，人立而后凡事举。
” “立人”的意思便是要完善人的思想和文明修养，人的文明修养并不是与生俱来的，而是靠后天不断完善的。
完善个人道德修养，便有了推进社会公共文明的基础。
我想，一个社会的公共文明水平，足可以折射出一个社会一个国家的文明程度，一个人如果不遵守社会文明，小则会影响自身形象，大则会影响国家声誉。
梁启超说：“少年智则国智，少年强则国强。
”我们是祖国的未来，我们是祖国的希望。
但在我们美丽的校园里总能看到极不和谐的纸屑、食品袋；在教室走廊上总能看到一部分同学追逐打闹，推推搡搡；总有部分同学讲脏话、粗话，随意攀爬树枝，甚至还有个别同学故意损坏学校的公共财物。
如果我们对奥运的热情，仅仅停留在口头上，那我们“还世界一个惊喜”的承诺，也只能给世界一个失望。
