我很自豪，因为我生活在中国的首都--北京。
北京申办下了2008年的奥运会，每一个中国人都激动不已。
到2008年，世界各地的运动员都要来到中国北京，北京会是什么样子呢
让我来描绘一下吧：北京的环境将会有很大的改善，道路两旁种满了绿树，隔离带上开满了鲜花，鸟儿飞翔在蓝蓝的天空上，鱼儿畅游在清清的河水中。
景色将会美不胜收。
绿色奥运是我们承办的奥运会的主题之一。
如今，环境问题已经愈发严峻，保护环境刻不容缓。
我们每一个人都应为此贡献出自己的一份力量。
我是文汇中学根与芽小组的一名成员。
根与芽是珍妮·古道尔研究会面向全球青年关于环境与人道主义教育的项目。
为了迎接奥运，我们根与芽小组组织了很多有关保护环境的活动。
就在4月份，我们参加了一个循环巨龙：耗材回收的活动。
这个活动是由地球村、根与芽、自然之友和惠普公司联手打造的。
耗材回收计划是为了减少堆填和掩埋垃圾对环境带来的影响，为用户提供简单并环保的方法回收用过的打印机墨盒及墨粉盒。
这个活动在同学中的反响很大，因为它与我们息息相关。
全校同学都积极参与，大家了解到：耗材如果被弃置在环境中或掩埋，它很难降解，有的还会对环境造成污染。
事实上其中的许多成分都可以再回收利用，如：塑料、调色剂、泡沫塑料、海绵、碳粉以及各种金属等等，这些原料加工以后又可以制成新的产品，如：E-木、再循环的塑料、公园长凳子、文具等等。
通过耗材回收，可以减少被堆填或掩埋的耗材，从而减少对环境的污染。
短暂的一个月内，我和同学们就收集了100多个墨盒。
没有使用耗材的同学也都在积极做着宣传工作。
可见保护环境的理念已经深入到同学们的心中，每个人都在为保护环境，举办一届绿色奥运尽着自己的一份力量。
正如珍妮·古道尔博士所说：每一个人都很重要；每一个人都能发挥作用；每一个人都能带来变化。
我还要尽我的力量向身边的人宣传这些理念。
我认为每一个人要从身边的小事做起，从自己做起，保护环境，还北京一片绿水蓝天。
当2008年奥运会外国友人来到北京的时候，一定会由衷地赞叹：北京真美呀

我们的首都北京取得了2008年奥运会的主办权，把绿色奥运作为主题之一， 老师说“绿色奥运”不光是一个口号，更是一种责任。
北京绿色奥运的宗旨是：为奥运会提供一座具有空气清新、水质洁净、环境优美、节约能源和资源、市民具有良好环境道德意识的世界一流的生态城市。
作为一名中国小公民,应该贡献自己的一份力量。
针对泛滥的白色污染，从我做起，不使用一次性塑料餐盒、一次性筷子。
妈妈曾经带我参观过一个环境保护展览，我看到用一片树林所生产出来的一次性筷子只够十家中小餐馆使用一天的，而北京有一万多家餐馆（还不包括特别小的），那么让我们算一算北京一天就要毁掉多少片树林呀
而北京又有多少树林禁得起我们这么毁呢
我要利用所学的知识做义务宣传员，在校园里，在同学间宣传保护环境的重要性。
我想，我们从现在开始，就要从我做起，从小事做起，爱护我们的校园，美化我们的环境，爱护我们北京的一草一木，让我们的城市和校园美化得像个花园一样，让外宾来到北京，感觉到我们北京空气好、环境好、人礼貌，让他们来到北京就像回到他们自己的家里一样。

Ancient Olympic Games and Pierre de CoubertinAncient Olympic GameThe history of the Ancient Olympic Games can be traced back over 3,000 years to ancient Greece.While celebrating physical excellence, they were mainly held for religious purposes.In 884 BC, the king of Elis reached a treaty with the kings of several other city states to hold regular athletic contests and to fulfill the sacred truce.That meant to cease fire in the Greek world for as long as the games were on.The Hellenic Olympic Games came into being soon afterwards.But Why were the games beld at Olympia?Because Olympia was one of the oldest religious centers in ancient Greece.Since athetic contests were regarded by the anient Greeks as a way to show their respects to their gods, especially Zeus, they chose Olympia, the site of the major temple, as the venue for the Games.The first recorded games were held in 776 BC. After that, they were held once every four years during the second or the third full moon after the summer solstice (in July or August).During their peak time in the fifth century BC, they games would last for five days.Just like in the Modern Olympic Games, winning athletes in the Ancient Olympic Games were regarded as heroes who put their hometowns on the map.However, only made citizens who spoke Greek and had not been convicted of any crime could compete in the games at that time.Athletes also had to meet other criteria. They were required to swear in front of the God.In addiition, they had to receive ten months' training before coming to Olympia. Good afternoon, everyone. My topic is “New Beijing, Great Olympics”. Do you still remember hearing “The city which will host the 29th Olympic Games is Beijing!” Do you still remember the moment when we all cheered and waved together? We were excited for Beijing’s chance to host the Olympic Games. Beijing is one of the oldest cities in the world. It has a history of about 3000 years. It is not only ancient, but also modern and beautiful. The municipal government of Beijing has prepared for the Olympic Games in all aspects, including competition places, environment, traffic and so on. The Olympics chose China, the world also chose China. We have to ask ourselves an important question, “As Chinese citizens, what can we do to prepare for the Olympic Games?” By the time Olympics are held in China in the year 2008, I will be a high school student. I will volunteer to do my part for the Olympic Games in whatever way I can be useful. Maybe I can use my foreign language skills to help to bridge the language gaps. For that, I must study English hard now to improve my English proficiency to the required level. Or maybe I can volunteer to do publicity work to raise people’s environmental awareness. We must protect the environment to make China a greener country. I think if everyone makes a contribution to protecting the environment, China will become much more beautiful by the time the Olympics come.
