I loved watch cartoons before, but recently I saw an action movie called Transformers. It tells us the righteous will definitely beat the evil. The leading man was brave and he saved the world with his wisdom. The robots didn't disappointed me too. They were cool as much as they could be.I love each of those characters. From this movie,I learned a lot.

RESPONSE TO MAMA AND THEGRADUATION PRESENT“‘It is the custom, then,’Mama asked, ‘the giving of gifts when onegraduates?’ ”. In ‘Mama and the Graduation Present’ by Kathryn Forbes,Katrin wants a pink celluloid dresser set in Mr.Schiller’s store. But when her mother offers a brooch that is precious to her mother,Katrin refuses it because she only wants the dresser set. Hermother trades the brooch to Mr. Schiller for the dresser set andgives the set to Katrin. When Katrin finds out what happened, shegets the brooch back and also gets a job in Mr.Schiller’s store. Inthis story, Katrin learns to put people beforepossessions. In the beginning of thestory, Katrin is selfish and ungrateful. For example, Forbeswrites, “Mamathought a lot of that brooch-it had been her mother’s. ‘Mama,’ Isaid reasonably, ‘what in the world would I want an old broochfor?’ … I shook my head, ‘LookMama, a graduation present is something like-well, like thatbeautiful dresser set in Mr.Schillers window’” . This shows that, the brooch is very valuableto her mother, but she turns it down. Therefore, she cares moreabout the things she wants than the brooch, her mother’s feelings,or anything else. In conclusion, Katrin is very unappreciative andself-centered.In the middle of thestory, Katrin is regretful. For example, Forbes writes,“Mama had wanted my happiness more than shehad wanted the silver brooch. So she traded it to Mr.Schiller forthe dresser set. ‘But I never wanted her to do that, Papa. If I hadknown-I would never have let her-” . This shows that, Katrindoes not want her mother to exchange the brooch for the dresser setbecause it is all she has of Katrin’s grandmother. This also showsthat, she regrets asking for the dresser set and wishes that shehasn’t. In conclusion, Katrin is sorry for what she hasdone. In the end of the story,Katrin is mature. For example, Forbes writes, “So I walked out of Mr.Schiller’s drugstore not only withMama’s brooch, but with a job that started the next morning. I feltvery proud. The dresser set suddenly seemed a childish and sillything” . This shows that, Katrin grows mature because shesacrifices the dresser set. This also shows that, she is nowresponsible enough for a job. In conclusion, Katrin growsup.Throughout the storyKatrin changes from ungrateful and selfish to regretful to mature. She learns to put people before possessions. That can help peoplewith their relationships and friendship with otherpeople.
