这一个月我读了的前大概40页，其实这本书很无聊，我也不太看得懂。
主人公是一个年迈的老渔夫，他以前是和一个小男孩一起去捕鱼的，但因为他八十四天都没捕上一条鱼，所以小男孩的父母让他上了另外一条船，男孩看见老人每次回来船都是空空的，感到很难受，他总是去帮助老人做事。
是老人教会了男孩捕鱼，所以男孩爱老人，他们感情很好，所以经常坐在一起聊聊天，说说以前的事情，他们经常去露台饭店吃饭，老人给男孩讲棒球比赛的事。
另一天，老人去捕鱼了，他把鱼饵放进水里，在那看风景，心里想着也伤感着。
第二天，他捕上了一条鲯鳅。
几天后，终于有一条大鱼咬饵了，他很高兴，但是，那条大鱼没上来过一次，大鱼不停得拉着老人往前拉着，时间在一点一点地流逝，但是大鱼始终不肯露面，不愿跳出水来。
他想起了以前他钓过一对中的一条。
老人开始吃小金枪鱼了，之后，他感觉到了左开始抽筋了，时间在不断得流逝，但是老人抽筋的手却没好。
不久，鱼上来了一次，老人把它的大概轮廓看清楚了，老人知道了这鱼比他的小帆船还长2英尺。
