Impression of 《Treasure Island》 《Treasure Island》depicts the valiant, witty and lively young boy, Jim Hawkins, the process of finding treasure map and how he encountered pirates, and finally find the treasure. Among all the plots, the one give me the most impressive is that Jim hided in the apple barrel, accidentally heard the pirates of the plot, and almost caught on the spot. He said, “You may fancy the terror I was in! I should have leaped out and run for it if I had found the strength, but my limbs and heart alike misgave me.”, “John did not know, to be sure, that I had overheard his council from the apple barrel, and yet I had by this time taken such a horror of his cruelty, duplicity, and power that I could scarce conceal a shudder when he laid his hand upon my arm.” and “I have terrible news.” From here, you can determine that how terrified, helpless, and precarious the Jim was. He wanted to tell Captain Smollett, the squire, and Dr. Livesey, but they did not show their interests in Jim’s news, finally cause the tragedy of fighting. This plot that Jim heard the conversation between pirates is a turning point of the story, it lays the groundwork for Jim slipped into the place beyond pirates and captured the ship. Imagine that if it is not Jim in the big bucket secretly heard the secret of the pirates, the results will become what it looks like? That may allow pirates to take advantage of the treasure and do something wrong such as gambling, drinking and squandering food. In the meanwhile, we can feel the temptation of money. Money can change the relationship between people and people; it is the corrosion of all. But the money itself is innocent, but the psychological deterioration of the people delusion possession of it, use it or even control it. Thus, money has become a synonym for evil. But money is sometimes beneficial to mankind, as long as you use the money reasonably, the money will be the most useful items. The book is very outstanding in the idea of layout, the atmosphere and characterization of personality. As the story unfolds, tense thrilling scene after another, makes people want to read the book in one time.

Reader response: The Adventures of Huckleberry T story is about a boy named Huck who runs away from home and has various adventures. It is set in the 1800's-southern United States. Aside from Huck the main characters are , the king and duke, Huck’s , and Miss Watson. Huck has conflicts about becoming civilized. Huck has many brawls while traveling with . Huckleberry , written by Mark Twain is one of the most well rounded books every written and it has everything that a reader could ask for in a book to keep the reader from wanting to put the book down. T is a story based on adventure and race and religion that makes t story what it is and how great of a vel it truly is. Throughout this whole story, Huck is going through anything that a young kid should t be having to go through but the only good thing about it is that he is never alone. He either has two other main characters to help out through tough situations or just make those situations even harder and these two characters are or . Huckleberry Finn is the main character of this story and he goes through everything that you could think of. One of the main things that Huck has had to deal with was his drunken father. He has never been brought up as a socially accurate person and he helps Jim who is an African American slave who has escaped from Miss Watson. Jim is legally Miss Watson’s property but sense Huck has never really been taught things that kids with rmal lives have been taught, he doesn’t know right from wrong but he that it is right to help Jim who has become one of Huck’s best friends. Sense Huck is just a kid, he doesn’t really know the rules for society so he basically just makes up his own rules and it seems as if this kid is a very smart kid who learned how things go on his own and it seemed to work out very well for . Jim is an African American slave owned by Miss Watson. He has escaped from her captivity and is being helped out by Huck. Jim actually is a really smart man and he is also a very superstitious man but these superstitions help reveal how smart he really is. Jim actually has a wife and kids in whom he loves more than anything and thinking about them help him get away from being a slave and he will do whatever it takes to be with them again someday. This factor about the story proves that society is not as correct as thinks it is. Just because Jim is a slave does not mean that he is just a person with no feelings and nothing to live for. If anything he has more to live for than a lot of people in this story. Huck is like any child. He can’t stand being bottled up like the Widow wants him to be. He runs away to be free and have fun and never ending adventure. I loved the story of Huckleberry Finn. The adventures were exiting, the fears realistic, and the successes ecstatic. I think that this story really is the Great American Novel and it is by far one of my favorite books that I have ever read in my life. You could not ask for a more fulfill story that has some of the best aspects of an adventure story that you could ever imagine. I’m not going to go into much of the detail of the story because I don’t want to ruin anything about the story and I just think that it would be so much better if you would just read it just knowing everything that I have told you so far. I think that everything that I have told you is enough to make you want to read this book and let you have a great time while reading it.

After reading this book, I admire the little dramatis personae very much. And it make me feeling more. Jim Hawkins was a timid and shy boy at first. At the beginning of the voyage, Jim was only a waiter in the cabin. But he was able to fight with enemys, and recapture the ship from the enemys at last. Although he was always prone to became actuation. His courage and insight that had been represented make me admirable. I have learned many things from him, like brave, resource, accommodating and so on. If we also have the spirit that Jim has, many difficult questions must be readily solved.

Treasure Island Plot introduction Jim was a ten year old boy. His family had a “Benbow” inn to earn the bread. One day, there came a brown old seaman, with the sword cut. The seaman let Jim call him “captain”. Little Jim liked to hear captain’s stories very much. His stories were what frightened people worst of all. Dreadful stories they were; about hanging, and murder, and storms at sea, and wild deeds. Every time Jim is afraid but loves them. Those add fresh and stimulating topics to the peaceful village life. It was not long that captain was dead. Because he was over drunk combined with the former pirate revenge the door. The captain spooked and died. Little Jim found that captain had a treasure writing, which the pirates were trying their best to look for. Little Jim delivered the treasure writing to Mr. Trelawney, the great man of their part of the country. so the adventurous story began. Before captain was dead, he warned Jim that he should pay more attention to a seaman with one leg. The judge and the chief bought a beautiful schooner. So they went to Treasure Island to hunt for treasure with little Jim. Malicious pirates were in disguise, mixing in the sailors of the treasure ship. Their organizer was the single leg sailor. His alias was tall john silver. During the very dangerous treasure hunt journey, one time, Jim hiding in a big bucket found the pirates group the conspiracy of rebellion. But owning to the proportion of occupied most of the pirates, little Jim with the village chief, judge fought wittily against gangsters. During conquering gangsters, there were full of adventure and difficulties. in the end little Jim found the treasure successfully. The main character Jim’s analysis After reading Treasure Island, little Jim left a deep impression on me. Treasure Island is a adventurous story. At the same time, it’s also a story about boys growing up. In the beginning of the novel, Jim is a timid boy. However, in the end of the novel, it was so incredible that Jim had become so matured. He conquered pirate with wit, gained the big boat and saved a lot of people. Although Jim is a child in age he had become an adult in character. During Jim’s growing up process Jim’s identity awareness gradually was increased and became clear. ”yet it was not so much these real sufferings that were hardest to bear; it was the terror I had upon my mind of falling into that still green water, beside the body of Israel hands” that show that Jim had become matured and himself identity awareness was increased. It’s obvious that Jim had an obvious boundary from pirates or crime. He defined himself a honest boy. For Jim his identity was more important than the pain in body. From that point .we can see that Jim was forming a kind of identity, confidence, and matured awareness which would play an important role in his development of life.

全书都是在写Jim这个家伙在现实中如何作恶，他所作的每件坏事都同宗教教育的说教形成强烈的对比。
个人感觉这个故事是在揭露宗教教育的虚伪。
宗教教育并没有教人如何行善，而只是以恐吓的方式叫人不要作恶。
Jim小时候的恶作剧并没有象宗教所讲的那样受到惩罚，于是他的胆子便越大，坏事也越做越多、越做越大，最后成了一个恶棍。
感觉故事也应该在揭露现实中恶人没有恶报的不公。

The outline of the book:The book tells such a story: Lord Jim ,a son from a parsonage, is a mate of Paterna. He went to the court alone and his sailing qualifications was cancelled due to abandoning the ship and overlooking his duty when a shipwreck happened. After that, in the help of Marlow captain, Jim change a lot of work. He finally settled in Patusan, an indigenous settlement whose civilization is isolated, under Marlow captain and his mate Stan's arrangement. In Patusan, Jim win the master's trust. Once, he interceded with a gang of white pirates for the master, and allowed. However, those pirates were treacherous and kill the master's son when they left. Jim was filled with grief and indignation, and he want to ask for the master's forgiveness via killing himself. The singular structure is a important feature of Lord Jim. The story is very interesting and his climaxs is not complicated. However, Conrad did not write the story from Jim's birth to his death to follow the prescribed order. To instead of the prescribed order, Conrad divided the forty-five chapter novel into three parts, and respectively adopt different narrative method to narrate each part. The first part, which stop at the forth chapter, was written with the third person narration. From the fifth chapter to the thirty-sixth chapter, that is the second part. In this part, Conrad drew Marlow captain as the narrator to tell some people the story of Jim after meal. And he storrest chapters is the final part of the story, which is followed by Marlow address to a privileged. The fancy structure made me confused the first time I read it, and I make its climax clear after I read the second time. However, on other than Conrad's singular structure makes the story whose climax is very simple afford for thought. When analysis this book ,we can not overlook Jim's heroism, which makes Jim be a inconsistent person and causes Jim's tragedy. after a course of light holiday literature his vocation for the sea had declared itself fhe could see the dig ships departing, the broad-beamed ferries constantly on the move,the little boats floaing far below his feet, with the hazy splendour of the sea in the distance, and the hope of a stirring life in the world of adventure. From those words from the marine novel, we can easy know Jim's strong heroism. Thought Jim bear heroism in heart, he can not carry it out bravely. That makes him a inconsistent person. When shipwreck happened and needed him to show heroism, he was defeated by his instinctive fear and abandon the ship . However ,on taking on the accident boat, he want to swim back the sinking ship to have a look. What's more, his heroism make contributes to his tragedy. When he was rescued, his heroism prompt him to chose to be honesty, and not like the captain lied about that. Contrast to the captain, the two native niggers try their best to carry out their duty as a humble sailor. And though Jim also abandon the ship, he regret immediately when take on the accident boat, and he is honest to receive the court's adjudgement in stead of telling lies. In addition, contrast to the gang of white pirates' treachery, the master of Patusan shows his mercy to the white pirates after Jim's beg. That is a epitome of the relationship between the colonist and aboriginals. The colonist cheat adoriginals' mercy and then kill them cruelly. And Jim's self-abuse and suicide also reflect the imperialism's false.
