Shennongjia Scenic Area The Shennongjia district in remote northwestern Hubei has the wildest scenery in the province. Foreigners are only allowed into the area of the Shennongjia district near the town of Muyuping, 200km northwest of Yichang. It’s a 10-hour bus ride to Muyuping from Yichang, or you can take a boat to Xiangxi (five hours) on the Three Gorges and from there it’s a 90km ride to Muyuping. 我们面前的这幅手持画卷的雕像就《清明上河园》的作者张择端，张择端字正道，号文友，山东诸城人。
正史对张择端的记载比较少，但是野史的记载比较详实。
至今，开封民间还流传着张择端与《清明上河图》的故事。
北宋太宗时期，相国寺发展到鼎盛时期，占地540亩，僧院64座，偌大的相国寺雕梁画栋需要大量的画师为之服务。
当时的张择端就是一位靠给寺院绘画谋生的民间画师，一天宋徽宗赵佶在皇家卫队的护卫下，声势浩荡地驾临相国寺降香，宋徽宗赵佶听说相国寺里住着一位才华横溢的年轻画师，便命宰相蔡京去了解情况。
宋徽宗赵佶和宰相蔡京不但喜欢绘画，并且都是绘画的高手。
宋徽宗赵佶命宰相蔡京将张择端召进翰林图画院，亲自命题让张择端绘画北宋东京的繁华盛景。
于是，就有了今天的传世神品《清明上河图》。
我们看他手中所持的画卷就是《清明上河图》。
清明上河园是严格按照《清明上河图》，1：1复原的，《清明上河图》高22.5厘米，横长525厘米，现存北京故宫博物院。
它集中描绘了北宋汴京清明节这一天都市与城郊百姓的种种活动，展现了京城工商业与交通的繁华面貌，成为宋代风俗画的特异瑰宝。
大家请随我这边走，这里是东京码头，隋炀帝开凿大运河以后，沟通了海河、黄河、淮河、长江、钱塘江五大水系，大运河西起洛阳，北到北京，南至杭州，是中国东部沟通内河、联系海港的南北水运交通干线，汴河就是连接京杭大运河的枢纽，往来的船只、运往皇宫的漕运、贡品，都要经过汴河运往皇宫。
在当时陆运不发达的情况下，汴河的水运无疑充当了今天的铁路运输角色。
也使得东京成为水陆交通枢纽，之所以有7个朝代在此定都，也是看上了东京便利的交通。
我们现在所看到的汴河全长3800米，是复原的一段，那有朋友要问了：那原来的汴河呢

我们刚才经过的大梁门，重修时在大梁门北侧发掘出上下层层相叠的三层古马道，古马道就是在城墙边修的坡道，以供士兵骑马上城墙之用。
为什么会出现如此奇观呢
大家都知道，黄河开封段是地上悬河，河床比开封的龙亭公园内地地面高11.49米。
在过去的800年里，开封段黄河决口120多次，开封城被黄河水淹过7次。
现在开封地下九米至几百米处依次可挖掘七座城池。
所以说，漕运的汴河、杨志卖刀的州桥、北宋的皇宫都在我们的脚下。
但是开封的泥土属于沙质土地，挖掘后城池可能坍塌，也因为技术不够完善，这些历史的遗迹仍然沉睡在地下。
游客朋友们，这座桥就是《清明上河图》最经典的虹桥，当年张择端绘制《清明上河图》，来的最多的就是这里。
虹桥是北宋十大木拱桥之一，它的特点就是没有桥墩，全靠枕木搭建而成，因为汴河漕运非常发达，往来船只众多，为方便船只通行，所以没有修桥墩。
再看桥的两头，都有两个立柱，每个立柱上都立有一只鹤。
在古代船只没有动力驱使，全靠人力和风帆，为了省力，船公们顺风时就拉下桅杆，逆风时就放下桅杆，这些立柱其实就是古代风向标，鹤的翅膀讲究4钱八两之说，稍有微风，鹤就会随风摆动，鹤头指向的方向就是当时风向，再对照下面的十字交木仪，就很精确辨别当时的风向了。
