古城公园位于上海古老的江南名园豫园的东北角，北侧和南侧以人民路为界，西至安仁街，南临福佑路，占地面积3.88万平方米。
绿化建设工程于2002年2月10日开工，同年5月31日竣工，历时110天。
公园建设以改善上海老城厢地区的环境质量，提高周围居民的生活质量为目标，采用现代的园林表现手法来体现“古”与”新”的结合与过渡，以丹凤楼、钱业公所、民居缩影等景点来反映上海传统文化历史，森林茶座、大草坪、下沉广场等景点为市民提供了休息和活动场所，里面有咖啡厅和钓鱼点。

“茶陵的城墙”指的就是茶陵的南宋古城。
如今，“安仁的城隍”已不存在，而茶陵南宋古城基本保存完好，是湖南至今唯一保存完好的宋代石头城。
