是布雷德利说 布利说的这段话却是有前提的：“我们争扩大到中国，那我们就会被卷入错误的时间、错误的地点同错误的对手打一场错误的战争”。
1951 年5月15日的国会听证上，建议把扩大至中国，布莱德利随后发言：Red China is not the powerful nation seeking to dominate the world. Frankly, in the opinion of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, this strategy would involve us in the wrong war, at the wrong place, at the wrong time, and with the wrong enemy. 奥马尔．纳尔逊．布雷德利，1893年2月12日，出生在克拉克村的一个教师家庭。
1911年，考入。
毕业后，分配到步兵第十四团驻守。
布雷德利没能参加一战，这成为他一生的憾事。
他曾先后在本宁堡步兵学校和陆军指挥与参谋学院学习深造。
1929年，布雷德利重返本宁堡步兵学校任教官。
在此期间，他结识了马歇尔，并得到其赏认。
1939年7月，马歇尔就任陆军参谋长，将布雷德利调入参谋长办公室。
1941年，布雷德利出任本宁堡步兵学校校长，负责组建坦克部队和空降部队，并从中校晋升为准将。
1941年12月，布雷德利晋升为临时少将，任第82师师长。
不久调任第28步兵师师长。
1943年2月，他作为的私人代表前往北非。
后接替巴顿任第二军军长，参加了突尼斯战役和。
1943年9月任司令并参与制订诺曼底登陆计划。
1944年7至8月，率美军第1集团军参加，在犹他和奥马哈两地段登陆，肃清科唐坦半岛的德军。
1944年7月实施“眼镜蛇”计划，突破德军防线，打破登陆后出现的僵局。
8月1日任美军群司令，参与法莱斯战役和阿登战役。
次年突破齐格菲防线，渡过莱茵河，协同盟军第21集团军群歼灭鲁尔德军重兵集团。
之后率部向易北河推进，4月25日在托尔高与苏军会师。
1945年任退伍军人管理局局长。
1947年4月，经艾森豪威尔推荐，被授予四星上将。
1948年2月陆军参谋长，翌年8月任参谋长联席会议主席。
1950年9月被授予陆军五星上将。
他是美国十大五星上将中最晚受衔的一位。
朝鲜战争中参与制定军事战略，1953年退役。
1973年，布雷德利出任布洛瓦钟表公司董事长。
1981年4月8日，布雷德利在华盛顿与世长辞，享年88岁。
他著有回忆录《一个士兵的故事》《将军百战归》。
