今天我们要讨论的辩题，是一个历史哲学的问题，所以有必要在辩论进一步深入之前先来肃清几个重要概念。
原来我准备的一辩的辩词 首先，什么是英雄
英雄者，杰出之人物也。
我们认为，我们今天所要讨论的英雄，就是那些影响历史发展进程的杰出人物。
秦始皇是英雄，因为他统一了中国；列宁是英雄，因为他领导了十月革命，建立了第一个工农政府；瓦特也是英雄，因为他改良了蒸气机，直接导致了第一次工业革命的爆发。
俯仰古今，我们发现，样影响历史发展的英雄比比皆是，举不胜举。
几乎每一次历史的进步，每一种历史局面的开创，都有着英雄不可磨灭的功绩，正是因为他们的睿智和历史眼光，才能从众多生命中脱颖而出，他们往往具有认清现实情况的能力，能够去发现，解决和处理问题，所以说是英雄利用了时势，通过发挥自己的主观能动性，去改造时势，从而推动历史的发展。
被誉为“中国社会主义改革开放和现代化建设的总设计师”的就是最好的例证。
他充分认清了中国当时所处的形势，提出了“黑猫白猫，会捉老鼠的就是好猫”的伟大思想，讲了其他人所不敢讲的，做了其他人所做不到的，他制定的改革开放的政策，为中国指明了一条正确的发展道路。
因此，没有就没有我们今天经济的繁荣，没有也就没有我们今天祖国的富强。
所以我们坚信，在英雄和时势之间，是英雄造时势，决不是时势造英雄啊。
其次，什么是时势
时势者，当时之社会形势也。
我方认为，社会由人组成，所有的事都是人做的，人才是执行行为的主体。
这显而易见体现出了一个内因与外因的问题。
英雄人物，他是内因；而时势作为一种客观形式或社会状态，只是外因。
马克思主义哲学告诉我们：内因，也就是英雄人物是变化的根据，时势这个外因是通过内因起作用而发生变化的。
孰重孰轻，不辨自明也。
历史上，秦孝公任用商鞅进行变法，使秦国渐次强大，改变了当时的局势，为后来始皇一统天下奠定了坚实的基础。
而彼得大帝这一历史英雄对俄国的改革，改变了俄国在政治，经济和文化教育等诸多方面的落后状态，使俄国进入了欧洲强国之列。
（在他在位期间，俄国出现了第一张印刷的报纸，第一个博物馆，第一个公共图书馆，第一个科学院等等） 综上所述，在铁一般的事实面前，我们难道还不能认清是英雄造时势吗
英雄对于历史的前进，人类社会的发展起着至关重要的作用。
所以我们说：英雄是石，敲出希望之火；英雄是火，点燃历史之灯；英雄是灯，照亮人类之路；英雄是路，引领我们走向灿烂的明天
