unconcious的精神动作给超级现实主义者自动写的观念. 1924年，法国诗人安德列·布列东（André Breton）发表了（Manifeste Du Surrealisme），并正式组织一个超现实主义艺术团体。
超现实主义的题材是别于一般正常的思维规律。
主张要打破理性和现实的界限，企图将现实经验、潜意识、梦境结合，常将不相干的事物加以并列在一起，构成了一个超越现实的幻象。
艺术上的表现以探索潜意识中的矛盾为主，如生与死、过去和未来¨等，超现实主义的画家也为了表现这样的奇发异想，大多运用拓印法、黏贴法、自动性技法等，特殊的表现技法来创作。
另外为了表现与真实世界的扭曲或矛盾，他们也常常采用精细而写实的手法来表现超现实的世界。
