影片中出现的形形色色的角色都是那个时代社会的缩影。

表达了对社会底层人们的同情。

这部电影给了我们一个看上去很美好的结局，却诉说着时代与社会的现实，让我们领略了人性险恶。

城市之中正是有了像流浪汉这样小人物的喜怒哀乐，才显得有光芒，他是城市的光明所在，因为有许许多多像他这样的人，世界才如此美好。

他是穷，是寒酸，是矮小，是没有文化，但他有一颗纯真的爱心。

对于上层社会的人来说，他可能不名一文，可就是他这样一束微弱的光，照亮了我们每个人的心。

为了心上人，他愿意付出一切，而这些正是那些有钱的上层人根本不会去做的，大官贵族们更不会在乎像一个盲人姑娘一样的社会底层人民的生死。

形成了鲜明的对比，这种对比反映出当时社会的残酷和冷漠。

正是卓别林让我们意识到，世间还有这种单纯而又如此凄美的爱情故事。

流浪汉的经历点亮了城市之光，卓别林的表演更是点亮了无声电影的光芒。
