根据摩登时代和罗马假日两部电影浅谈二十世纪三四十年代的好莱坞电影
好吧，电影1895年才诞生。
也就是说，20世纪初，电影才在法国刚刚开始被人所接受。
至于好莱坞，其实真正的兴盛是从20世纪30年代开始，也就是美国经济大萧条变相的促进了美国电影的繁盛。
如果说真正的20世纪初的话，20世纪30年代应该是不太算的。
如果真的要做这个时期的美国电影的话，那个时期比较有代表性的也就是格里菲斯的1915年的《一个国家的诞生》，和1916年的《党同伐异》。
都是以那个时期的社会为背景，涉及一些三K党，种族歧视等等问题。
萨杜尔曾经说：“如果很好的回顾一下历史，1915年2月8日《一个国家的诞生》首次在美国上映的日子乃是好莱坞统治世界的开始，同时也是至少在以后几年间好莱坞艺术称霸世界的开端。
”格里菲斯虽说是里程碑式的人物，但是也许大家不会太对那个年代感兴趣，稍稍提及一些就好。
但是从1913到1927年有声电影《爵士歌手》开始带领好莱坞进入黄金时期，这10多年都是查理·卓别林默片的天下。
比如《城市之光》，《摩登时代》，《淘金记》等等。
这个大家多少有些了解，资料也比较好查，可以着重这方面。
当然，如果想更丰富的话，可以简略讲述一下比如第一部彩色电影《名利场》，第一部有声电影《爵士歌手》，这些有代表性的电影后来都进行过翻拍，也有代表性，时间也是20世纪20年代末30年代初左右，比较符合你要求的时间背景。
甚至也可以略略提到好莱坞称霸世界开始的30年代，比如秀兰·邓波儿，比如大量改编拍摄的名家电影，像是《小妇人》，《茶花女》，那个30年代是好莱坞开始振奋人心的黄金时期。
略提这里也未尝不可。
建议参考一下北京电影学院的教材《外国电影史》，会有很大帮助。
