佛罗多以及他的堂伯毕尔博，甘道夫和精灵们一起前往了阿门洲，那里也被称做“不死之地”，“蒙福之地”，“终西地”，佛罗多作为一个凡人（Mortal)本不可能有这种殊荣，但曾持有魔戒者的经历使他获得了这种特许，另一种说法则是阿拉贡的夫人阿雯公主将自己前去阿门洲的权利赠于佛罗多。
佛罗多去那里的主要目的就是疗伤，他身上所受戒灵王之剑伤，大蜘蛛希洛布之蛰伤以及佩带至尊魔戒所受的伤痛在中土世界都无人能够完全医治，即便中土最出色的疗伤大师埃尔隆德大人都无能为力，电影中佛罗多就提到这些伤每年都会发作，所以他必须离开中土世界,与精灵一起前往“蒙福之地”阿门洲，请那里的诸位维拉医疗才有可能治愈 阿门洲居住着被精灵和人类当神崇拜的14位维拉（大能者，是世界的修建完善者和管理者）以及维拉属下的众多迈雅，大量的光明精灵也生活于该地，可以类比我们世界的天堂，它位于大海的彼岸，在努曼诺尔陆沉之后只有乘坐精灵的船沿着“笔直航道”才可以到达。
