是不是我们每个人年少时都有那么一段时间，渴望自由飞翔却又处处碰壁，希望自己做出选择却又翻来覆去后悔，觉得自己不被理解，不被倾听，不被尊重。
我们宣泄，我们离家出走，我们学着喝酒，我们眯起眼看家长口中“坏孩子”们的一举一动。

在被指着鼻子说“不让人省心”，在挨过一次厮打，在被大人摸着脸颊喃喃道“我是为了你好啊”之后呢
我们是不是丢掉自己认为对的事情，我们是不是丢掉自己喜欢的东西，我们是不是费尽心机去得到大人的那一句“你长大了”
我们常说，“最终你变成了你讨厌的样子”，可是除了这样，我们还有怎样的成长
《狗十三》里，李玩从甩开父亲独自回家到和父亲在车里抱头哭泣，从“我不是非要只狗，我只是关心爱因斯坦”到吃下一口红烧狗肉，从饭局拂袖而走到喝完杯中的红酒，从“碎女子”变成“乖得很”，这样的李玩，又是不是曾今的你我
李玩找狗一段，听到狗叫找到了带走爱因斯坦的人家，在敲开门与大人对峙时迅速妥协，也并未找家人来，因为她知道没有人是向着她的 ，也寓示着在后来每次与大人对抗时，她都是妥协、避让，顺从、沉默的。
继母买回新狗谎称是爱因斯坦的一场戏，她高高盘起双臂，眼睛里透着精明和胜利的目光，她的身份是一个和李玩毫无关系的成年人；奶奶爷爷在得到授意后也开始欺骗，血缘上的关系已经淡薄；李堂开始也认为不是爱因斯坦，在得到眼神制止后开始走向对立，是已经“长大了”的表现。
最后剩下李玩一个人，开始接受这样的事情。
父亲为了哄女儿买了一条狗，最后却不顾女儿感受送它到狗肉店；爷爷不顾年迈四处找狗，摔倒后却大骂李玩；继母给她买了一双轮滑鞋，却和她爸爸念叨昭昭可以得到更好的；衣冠楚楚的李哥口口声声说着要多读书，却又说《时间简史》是小孩读的书；就连同龄的高放，也在为李堂纹身后又纹上了“玩”字，这一切，就在李堂口中缓缓道出的英语单词，“伪善”。
接近尾声李玩和其父坐在车里的一场戏，不免想到《相亲相爱》的结尾，父亲的掩面哭泣似乎有些突兀，但最直接的动力，却还是女儿变“乖”了。
