“The Sound of Music is an impressive musical that stands above other films of the genre because of interesting characters, top-notch direction, and a truly inspired screenplay. 《英语课程标准》也明确指出，“文化意识”是综合运用语言能力的一个重要组成部分，是得体运用语言的保证。
因此，教师在进行英语教学的过程中，应注重对英语文化的渗透。
因此，作为一名小学英语教师，除了对学生语言知识以及语言能力的培养，在教学中进行文化知识的传递与导入也是必不可少的。
一、通过教材了解中西方文化比较，渗透文化意识小学新标准英语教材中有大量关于中外文化的对比的题材，通过比较中西方文化的不同,比如在What would youlike?一文中我们学了传统的英国早餐，午餐和晚餐。
教师要让学生讨论一下中国的传统食物，让他们进行比较一下。
通过比较，教师让学生意识到风靡全球的麦当劳，KFC的等快餐实际上并不是一种健康的饮食。
相反，西方人更推崇中国的饮食习惯，通过比较更易培养民族自豪感。
中西文化的比较易帮助学生增加文化底蕴，增加跨文化交际意识。
让学生自己感受和意识到文化在交际中有不容忽视的作用,如果不了解,可能会闹笑话,甚至产生误会或更严重的后果。
二、通过学唱英文歌曲，来感受西方文化据有关专家研究表明，在教学中适当而巧妙地运用音乐，能提高教学效率，收到事半而功倍的效果。

综上所述，不掌握文化背景就不可能学好语言。
英语教师必须在教授英语知识的同时，重视文化意识的渗透。
同时也必须意识到中国文化是世界上最悠久灿烂的文化之一，在教学过程中要加强本族文化与英语文化的对比，并且帮助学生树立语言文化平等的观念，决不能认为哪种文化更好，哪种语言更优美。
从而有效地培养学生跨文化交际的意识，并进一步培养学生尊重各国文化并传播中外文化的使命感，同时还可提高学生在面对真实语境时自如地进行语言和非语言交际的能力，进而达到我们的教学目标。
