鸬鹚是一种古老的渔法,我省鸬鱼集中在湘江上游的零陵和衡、沅江上游的辰溪县以及洞庭湖区的汨罗江、万子湖和大通湖一带。
一只好的鸬鹚平均每天可捕鱼4公斤,一年捕鱼1400多公斤,一般一只鸬鹚一年捕鱼500公斤。

鸬鹚捕鱼的现状
因为鸬鹚破坏了渔业资源的可持续。
渔民用鸬鹚捕鱼，做法是用绳套在鸬鹚颈段打结，这样鸬鹚下水捕鱼，吞进去的鱼就不会进入胃部，渔人可以再把鱼挤出来。
可是鸬鹚所吞捕的鱼，基本上都是小鱼，大鱼它吞不下，这就破坏了渔业资源。
鸬鹚捕鱼是汉族劳动人民传承千年的古老技艺，这项技艺在江西省著名的风景名胜区龙虎山中的渔民中也世代相传着。
