近种篱边菊，秋天未著花。

诗中通过了一些平常而又典型的事物，如偏僻的住处，篱边未开的菊花，无犬吠的门户，西邻对陆羽行踪的叙述等描写，刻画了一位生活闲适清静的隐士形象。
全诗语言清新自然，明白如话，流畅潇洒，别有情趣。
